11-12 DII WBB Preseason Poll

Rank College Returning Starters 2010-11 Record

1 Iowa Central Community College 3 30-6 With All-American Mika Rodewald returning, the Tritons have national title hopes in 2011-12.

2 Mesa Community College, Ariz. 3 20-12 The Thunderbirds return one of the most experienced rosters in the country to take a shot at the title.

3 Kalamazoo Valley Comm. College, Mich. 2 24-8 A solid mix of returning players, transfers and freshmen puts the Lady Cougars in a solid position this season.

4 Johnson County Community College, Kan. 2 32-5 Cavaliers head coach Ben Conrad is looking to add more wins to his 62-10 record over the past two seasons.

5 Kishwaukee College, Ill. 2 21-12 Retuning All-American Devin Mack has the Kougars beaming with confidence entering the 2011-12 season.

6 Monroe College, N.Y. 0 29-5 Despite all of the new faces in the Bronx, the Mustangs should present another competitive squad in 2011-12.

7 Moraine Valley Community College, Ill. 3 20-12 Nine returning players and two four-year college transfers give the Cyclones a talented team in District D.

8 Kirkwood Community College, Iowa 0 25-7 The Eagles are one of the strongest candidate to dethrone Iowa Central as Region 11/District E champions.

9 Parkland College, Ill. 0 34-3 The most wins in DII didn’t get the Cobras a championship last season. They’ll look to change that in 2011-12.

10 Kankakee Community College, Ill. 2 31-3 Despite being picked second in District D, don’t count the Cavaliers out of making a deep run this season.

The Tritons will try to build off last season’s fourth-place finish in

the national tournament and shoot for the title in 2011-12.

Returning five of his top eight players from last season, head

coach Craig Carlson has high expectations for his team this year.

Standing in Iowa Central’s way is a host of talented teams

including Mesa CC and defending-champion Monroe College.
