Classical Gems of Jordan, Israel & Egypt Day 1/ Apr 11, 2012 Depart Manila Be at the airport 3 hours before departure on EK 885 departing 11:55 pm. Day 2/ Apr 12, 2012 Manila- Amman [LD] Arrive Amman airport in the morning. Proceed on a guided tour and visit Madaba (oldest mosaic map of Holyland) and Mount Nebo (burial site of Moses). Some time for shopping before checking in at hotel in Amman. Day 3/ Apr 13, 2012 Amman- Petra [BLD] Visit Al Magtas “Bethany beyond Jordan River.” This place was proclaimed by the late Pope John Paul II as the original site of Jesus’ Baptism. Then drive to Petra (2nd batch awardee of 7th Wonders of the World, the lost Nabatean City with the most spectacular ancient remaining city today, made famous by the movie “Indiana Jones”) with optional horse ride through the picturesque Siq and visit the Treasury, Royal Tombs and the Roman Theater. Check in at hotel in Petra. Day 4/ Apr 14, 2012 Petra- Tiberias [BLD] Transfer to the border to cross into Israel. Proceed to Mount Tabor (Jesus’ transfiguration) then on to Yardenit for baptismal renewal before continuing to your hotel in Tiberias. Day 5/ Apr 15, 2012 Galilee Area [BLD] Visit the Mount of Beatitudes (site of the sermon on the Mount), Tabgha (site of the Miracle of the Fish and Bread), Capernaum (center of Jesus’ Ministry) for St. Peter’s House and the ancient synagogue with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Return to your hotel in Tiberias. Day 6/ Apr 16, 2012 Tiberias- Nazareth-Meggido [BLD] Drive to Nazareth to visit the Basilica of the Annunciation (where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary), St. Joseph Church (the original workshop of St. Joseph and home of the Holy Family). Onwards to Cana, (site of Jesus’ first public miracle by changing water into wine) and then visit Meggido, more popularly known as "Arrmagedon", where it is believed the final world battle will be held. Return to your hotel in Tiberias. Day 7/ Apr 17, 2012 Tiberias- Jerusalem [BLD] Travel to Haifa (Israel’s 2nd biggest city along the Mediterranean), Mount Carmel for Stella Maris Church, Ceasarea Maritime ("by the Sea"), located on the shore in the center of Israel. It is the site of one of the most important cities in the Roman World, the Roman capital of the province of Judea at the time of Jesus, where Herod built his Palace. Then to Jaf a to see the house of Simon the Tanner. Continue to your hotel in Jerusalem.
