Several thousand supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, including some riding horses and camels and wielding whips, clashed with anti-government protesters as the upheaval took a dangerous new turn.

Mubarak supporters clash with protesters; 600 injured

On “Students need to actively fight budget cuts” (Logan Froerer, Feb. 2, 2011) Opinion

Anonymousposted 2.2.11 @ 3:01 A.M.Here’s an idea to help with the budget. Support House Bill 191 (that the ASUU is opposing) requiring undocu-mented aliens to pay out of state fees. If we assume their are 200 illegal immigrants enrolled in 12 credits in the education department, then switching them to an out of state paying plan would increase the budget by about 1.5 million dollars given that out of state tuition is about 3.5 times greater than in state. Something to think about.

www.dailyutahchronicle.com

Albert K. Albertsposted 2.2.11 @ 12:01 P.M.Anonymous @ 3:01 AMYou are making an assumption that all of those 200 people will continue to attend college. Thats a pretty big assumption, and its wrong. They will stop attending school and then you actually lose the in-state tuition you would have got had they enrolled.Might want to enroll in an economics class next semester.

1. Do you think the Legislature should be able to edit the curriculum of elementary and high schools instead of the school board?

2. What do you think of Litza’s Pizza?

3. What do you think of the agreement U President Michael Young reached with Rep. Curtis Oda about guns on campus?

No.

It’s great, right up there with Little Caesars.

I don’t really know what to think about that. I don’t think people should open carry. I think it should have to be concealed.

Absolutely not. They need to keep their noses out of stu! like that.

Well, I haven’t been there in a long time, but I’m considering going back. My wife has gluten allergies, and they have a gluten-free crust I read about just the other day.

I kind of feel like he was forced into it more or less. They were going to hold much sti!er laws and rules over our heads, but I think the Legislature is going the wrong way.

Sure, I don’t know. I don’t really follow politics so it is kind of hard for me to answer those kind of questions. As long as they improve the education.

What? I’ve never eaten it. I guess I could try.

I actually think it is a good thing that they revoked it. I don’t think we should have guns on campus. It just endangers students in case there is some violent outbreak. We don’t want just students pulling out guns and using them on people.

No.

I’ve never had Litza’s Pizza.

Well, I don’t really like guns. I’ve never shot a gun, and I don’t think that people should have guns. I recently saw “Bowling for Columbine,” and it kind of opened my eyes about what really goes on, and I saw how many guns are in the U.S.

4. What arts galleries do you know about right now?

5. What is your favorite sports team at the U and why?

One downtown, but I don’t really know too much.

The gymnastics team.

I know about the one at the Union. We go to the one on the third Friday of each month—they have the gallery walk, so we go to those. We’re aware of most of the galleries in town.

I’d have to say football. I used to play football and basketball, but I really enjoy football.

I know the one that is at the University of Utah, but that’s pretty much it. I haven’t been to any other ones.

The football team, de"nitely because the games are fun to watch and it’s a good sport.

I’ve been to a couple downtown, but I don’t remember the names.

Football, because the MUSS is the most fun ever.
