success on the court, exciting changes are on the
horizon for the University of
Tennessee tennis program, including
renovations to the tennis facility
scheduled to break ground later this
year. The UT Athletic Department and the Campaign
for Tennessee Tennis Committee want to extent an
initiation to members of the Tennessee tennis
community to come out and learn more about these
planned improvements, tour the current facility, and
support the nationally ranked Vols and Lady Vols as
they face off against conference rivals. Please join us

Tennessee Basketball: Sweet 16 Bound
Neyland Stadium Renovation Update
The Men’s and Women’s basketball teams both won their
first and second round games in the NCAA tournament.
The Vols won against San Diego State and Ohio to
advance to the Sweet 16 and are looking to paint
St. Louis orange when they take on Ohio St. on Friday,
March 26th. The Lady Vols hosted the 2010 NCAA first
and second round games in Knoxville and won against
Austin Peay and Dayton on their road to the Sweet 16.
The Lady Vols will head to Memphis and will take on
Baylor on Saturday, March 27th.
Progress continues to be made on the renovations to Neyland Stadium
since the end of the 2009 football season. During this off-season, crews
have started creating a new Gate 21 entry plaza, adding two elevators to
the northwest side of the stadium, adding brick and wrought iron façade
work along the north and west sides of the stadium, as well as constructing
the Tennessee Terrace. Crews are also preparing a site for a new statue of
Gen. Robert Neyland, which will be on the street level of the west side of
Neyland Stadium this November. Construction on Neyland Stadium has
been underway for a few years now. The Master Plan was created in a
phased approach, and each phase must be entirely funded by private
leadership donations and annual revenue generated by Tennessee Fund
priority seats as well as East and West Club and Tennessee Terrace
seat contributions. No university funds or taxpayer subsidies are planned
to be used in financing the projected over $200 million in total renovations.

UT Vols & Lady Vols to Host SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium will take on a fresh appearance as UT hosts the
SEC Outdoor Championships May 13–May 16. The stadium was scheduled for
upgrades in 2009-10, as plans called for resurfacing the track, completing the entry
plaza, upgrading the pavilion, enhancing the seating areas with brick work and adding
a few other cosmetic touches.
