reflected programEvery type of space has a design intent which must be expressed with every detail. In Safdie’s office, the ceiling is treated as an interior elevation and is therefore studied case by case. While Revit models shared with the engineers assisted in catching coor-dination problems, I was ultimately inclined to redraw every con-sultant’s drawings and learn their constraints in order to produce the desired aesthetic while abiding by their respective code.
