“What raises McGovern above most other artists in her stylistic arena is her unique combination of a natural vocal ability, knowledgeable musicality and an amiable manner... a world-class vocal artist.”
Don Heckman - LOS ANGELES TIMES
“McGovern has the most remarkable range and crisply tailored diction in town, and she offers a
lesson in dynamics, from her whispery take on “Nice ‘n’ Easy” to the sweaty seductiveness of
“Fever.” McGovern’s wide-ranging scat singing and her sense of jazz phrasing is just another
facet of her skillful vocal talents.” Robert L. Daniels - VARIETY
“Ebersole was clearly born to perform; in fact, it’s to the detriment of her fellow actors that she so effortlessly commands attention when she’s on stage.”
Nicholas Fonseca - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
“When Christine Ebersole sashays onto the stage at Arci’s Place, the atmosphere begins to
fi zz as if the cork from a giant Champagne bottle had been
popped, and the whole room levi-tates in the sweet, bubbly mist of
her comic energy.” Stephen Holden – NEW YORK TIMES
Broadway’s Maureen McGovern brings her concert “A Long and Winding Road” to the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall Saturday, February 6. McGovern—one of the most technically profi cient and lovely voices in cabaret—has matured with a new darker, mellower quality to her sound that resonates more beautifully than ever!
Feb. 6
She’s the hottest, brightest star on Broadway today! Two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway star Christine Ebersole is coming to Northridge Saturday, April 24. Ebersole’s rich, smooth, jazzy vocal style keeps loyal audiences coming back for more!

Broadway’s Maureen McGovern in A Long and Winding RoadSat, February 6, 2010 • 8 pm
There aren’t many people who can claim to have been involved with a sinking ocean liner AND a burning skyscraper, but Maureen McGovern is one of them. Recordings of “The Morning After” and “We May Never Love Like This Again,” Academy Award winners for Best Original Song from the Irwin Allen epics The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno, earned her the nickname Maureen the Disaster Theme Queen.
McGovern remained in theme song mode and on the pop charts with “Can You Read My Mind” from Superman and “Different Worlds” from the short-lived sitcom Angie. McGovern ultimately parodied her own image by playing a singing nun in the disaster movie spoof Airplane!
On the Broadway stage, McGovern replaced Linda Ronstadt in The Pirates of Penzance, co-starred with the late Raul Julia in Nine, and, most recently, played Marmee in Little Women, both on Broadway and then in the national tour. Along the way, she earned respect not only for her recordings, plays and concerts, but also for her almost annual appearances on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.
With one of the most technically profi cient and lovely voices in cabaret, McGovern brings to Northridge an entertaining and introspective theatrical concert based on her recent album of the same name. In a feast for baby-boomers, she celebrates the era of Simon & Garfunkel, Lennon & McCartney and Joni Mitchell. Legends

Capitol Steps Sat, February 13, 2010 • 8 pm
You watch Saturday Night Live and tune in to Comedy Central for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. But when it comes to satire, you haven’t seen the real thing until you’ve seen Capitol Steps. The only group in America that attempts to be funnier than Congress, Capitol Steps is constantly changing to keep up with the latest headlines, but unlike SNL and The Daily Show, the actors and actresses sing their satire. The material is fresh and bipartisan. As they say, “We make fun of everybody.”Theatre/ Spoken Word

Two-Time TONY™ WINNER
Christine EbersoleSat, April 24, 2010 • 8 pm
Christine Ebersole is an entertainer who might be described as a hybrid of Bernadette Peters and a toned-down Madeline Kahn, wistful but playful, like a precocious grown-up kid in an attic playing dress-up.—Steven Holden, New York Times
Christine Ebersole continues to enchant audiences from the Broadway stage to numerous fi lms, television series, concerts, and recordings. Her fi lm credits include the Academy Award- winning Best Picture Amadeus, Tootsie, My Girl, Folks! and Til There Was You. She also received an EmmyTM Award nomination during her stint as Maxie McDermott on the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live and is an alumnus of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
Ebersole also brings a potent combination of sophistication and talent to the stage. From 42nd Street to Grey Gardens, critics rave over this two-time Tony Award Winner and Drama League’sTM Outstanding Performance of the Year. She’s starred in Broadway hits such as I Love My Wife, On the 20th Century, Dinner at 8, Camelot, Sweet Magnolias, and Oklahoma.
The evening’s arrangements are a clever wink to sassy nightclub acts of the 1960’s. This well-orchestrated performance is an excellent showcase for Ebersole’s musical talents, which range from comic alto to lyrical soprano.Legends
