Some issues in the population census• Expectations from the census
o Creating initial data base for developing system of civil registration; what information to be collected, i.e. individual g ; ,and households level data
o Newest picture and its trends about population; MDGs achievements
• Geographical (archipelago) context:o 17,504 islands ; ±13,000 islands inhabitedo data collection in inhibited islands;o data collection in inhibited islands;
• Statistical mapping in inhabited islands; created about 728,000 census block maps (new census blocks , p (completely differ from existing census blocks)
• Intensive campaign to:o better inform public about the important and benefit of census,o get awareness and cooperation from people

• Throughout Indonesia, most people waited for the enumerators to come to their house and enumerate them
• People, in all level, asked actively if they had not been enumerated 3

• 2‐stage enumeration was employed:o 1st stage: listing procedure: name of HH heads number of HHo 1 stage: listing procedure: name of HH heads, number of HH members by sex was listed by enumerator to every HHs in all CBs
o 2nd stage: every HH enumerated using Long form Q’naire (43 vars)
