The IEEE Industry Applications Society welcomes you to our 45th Annual Meeting!
TheAnnualMeetingoffersaforumformembersandguestsoftheIASTechnicalCommitteestogatherinoneplacetopresentpapers,attendtutorials,honorawardwinnersandrenewacquaintances.ThisyearnineoftheeighteenIASTechnicalCommitteeshaveorganizedtechnicalsessionsandtutorialsattheIASAnnualMeeting.Theseeventswillcoverabroadrangeoftopicsinfieldssuchasautomation,control,electrostatics,mining,metals,andstandardsforelectricalinstallations.
ThisisthesecondyearofthenewformatfortheIASAnnualMeeting.Formorethan30yearstheAnnualMeetingfollowedafixedscheduleoftutorials,luncheons,banquets,andtechnicalsessions.WhenthefourTechnicalCommitteesoftheIndustrialPowerConversionSystemsDepartmentmovedtoECCEin2009itpresentedanopportunitytoreviewthemeetingscheduleandmakesomeadjustments.TheAnnualMeetingstillhasmanyofthesameeventsofpreviousmeetings,butsomeofthemareheldondifferentdaysordifferenttimes.Besuretochecktheschedulecarefullytoensurethatyoudon’tmissyourfavoriteevent.
Thetechnicalsessionsandtutorialsaretwoofthemostimportantportionsofthemeeting.Theywillbeheldthroughouttheweek.Buttherewillalsobemanyotherevents.ThewinnersoftheIASOutstandingAchievementAward,theDistinguishedServiceAward,andOutstandingYoungMemberAwardwillbehonoredatthePresident’sAwardBanquetonTuesday.TherewillbeaPlenarySessiononMondaymorningwithpresentationsbyexpertsinrenewableenergy,electricalsafety,aircraft,andelectrostatics.OnMondaytherewillbealuncheonforallstudentsattendingtheconference.RepresentativesfromIASChapterswillattendaworkshoponTuesday.TechnicaltoursarescheduledforSundayandWednesday.Inaddition,theIASExecutiveBoardandIASCouncilwillgatheratthemeetingtoconducttheadministrativebusinessoftheSociety.
