Individual contributors can make aphenomenaldifferenceinFoundationeffortsandinthelifeofthecollege.Aprimeexampleof this kind of self-sacrificial giving is Dr.Carolyn Langston, a business/accountinginstructorwhowasthefirstemployeehiredat the college when it opened its doors asSouthernStateCollege-ElDoradoin1975. Through their long-term, generousphilanthropy, Dr. Langston and herhusband, Ralph, have become PathwaySociety-level contributors to the SouthArkFoundation. This delineation recognizes alevel of investment of more than $100,000inalifetime. Dr.Langstonhasdistinguishedherselfthroughherdedicationtostudentlearning, career achievements and professionaldevelopment, whichbringprestigeandpridetothecollege. A 35-year SouthArk veteran in thebusinessdepartment,Dr.Langstonwasthefirst of SouthArk instructors to go backto school and earn her doctorate degreewhileworking full-timeat thecollege.Shealso became a Certified Public Accountantand received her Certified ManagementAccounting accreditation.
