It’s a new decade and with it brings new challenges and opportunities in the Real Estate Market. Last year started off slowly with a great deal of hesitation in the minds of buyers but then confi dence returned and activity rebounded beyond the expectations of many analysts. What will 2010 bring? Indications are that buyers are still very active in their searches since interest rates have remained near historical lows.

It is uncertain whether interest rates will remain this low for long. While the government will not want to hinder the signs of recovery in the economy by hiking the rates, they will also be watching carefully to see if low rates are encouraging too much speculation in the housing market. If they sense a bubble growing, rates will creep up and price growth will slow. So there is actually incentive for both buyers and sellers to be in the market right now. Buyers will want to fi nd their home quickly so that they can lock in a good rate for their mortgage and sellers will want to take advantage of this activity while prices are healthy and inventory remains scarce.

These are interesting times and no, we don’t have a crystal ball to be able to predict what is to come. But a measured approach to the market place has helped me build a large network of satisfi ed clients as well as strong relationships with builders, home improvement specialists, stagers, bankers and mortgage specialists. Whatever the market conditions may be or are to come, I’m ready to assist you through them.
