BFG Grower Select 30’ Gothic Style HouseThe 30' Gothic Style house is the workhorse of our product line. It's an ideal year-round structure, featuring 1.66" 14 ga. bows spaced 4' on center. Bows may be spaced on 6' centers which reduces the cost by approximately 33% on the frame where no snow loads will be incurred or if the poly is taken off during the winter. Optional crossbar assemblies, extended stakes and wind bracing packages are available. Five purlins are available as an option for extra runs of hanging baskets. Use 42' poly on the standard house and 48' with extended stakes. (Groundstakes are sold separately.)

BFG Grower Select 24’ Sales HouseThe 24' Sales House can be used year-round for growing or as a temporary spring structure. The house features 6' straight sidewalls which can be poly covered, used for polyvents or our own natural ventilation roll up sidewalls. No wasted space because of short sidewalls. Height is 8’8” at 3' in from the side, so baskets can be hung almost anywhere. Uses 42' poly with 28” stakes. Optional crossbar assemblies, windbracing packages, and polylock are available.

BFG Grower Select 14’ and 15' ColdframesOur 14' and 15' coldframes (1.315" round single piece bow) are designed for overwintering nursery stock or as a temporary growing area. An optional extended stake package is available for extra height. The house can be purchased without stakes and can be made portable by using a baseboard to connect the bows. Most often used with a single purlin with hoop spacing at 4’ O.C. (Build your own endwall to complete the structure.)

BFG Grower Select Spring LockSpring lock doesn't pinch, bind, or weaken the material it secures and can be formed to the top of curved bows. The aluminum channel holds two springs for a stronger grip. Works by pulling the material across the channel and inserting the soft spring into place in the bottom channel. Can hold from 2 to 20 mil thickness.

Greenhouse ApplicationsThe type of crops grown will generally determine whether a black out system or a partial shade system will best suit your needs. All VRE systems will provide some level of heat retention dependant on the cover fabric qualities.

1. Blackout or Short Day Length Control FabricsThese will provide the total light control required to produce crops such as chrysanthemums, begonias, and kalanchoe year round. These generally include a porous, two-layer fabric for the top covers with a reflective top surface. Generally fabric for the vertical side walls and gable end coverage are nonporous and are installed as center roll-up walls.

2. Shade FabricsThese can be utilized for any crop. The most common types are made of alternating strips of clear and aluminized polyester which are available in 15% to 85% shade value percentages to suit the application.

Climate Screens with FirebreakXLS Obscura Firebreak – Blackout and energy savings with a firebreak on every screen.

For controlling day length, the double lay-ered XLS Obscura Firebreak brings 99.9% blackout with approximately 16” of firebreak along both sides to limit screen-to-screen fire spread. When properly installed, this provides approximately 32” of firebreak between adjacent screens.

All Svensson inside screens can be used under all types of green-house cover. The aluminum upper layer reflects sunlight but retains heat at night. Choosing a white under layer intensifies supplemental lighting. Their unique knitted structure reduces condensation and al-lows them to be bundled to a small size for maximum available light.

XLS FirebreakXLS Firebreak, an improved version of XLS climate screens, is intended to limit screen-to-screen fire spread with a firebreak section along both edges of each screen, effectively doubling the firebreak area across two adjacent screens. XLS Firebreak is used in flat, slid-ing systems partially containing fire-resistant support wires to achieve intended fire limiting performance.

There are three waysof installing retractable shade:

1. Exterior retractable shade (an Abri system): This shade goes high above the structure and won’t interfere with vents. The fabric (such as the Svensson F series) designed to “breathe” and exhaust air between the shading and aluminized reflective components. It is highly efficient since the cloth reflects radiation before it enters the greenhouse; the additional structure which withstands wind loading makes this the most expensive option.

2. Interior retractable shade: This system, primarily used with natural ventilation, allows for even shading so plants dry out evenly. The greenhouse is ventilated through the shade.

3. Interior retractable energy/shade: Regular energy curtains must be left open to match the area opening of the vent position. This allows a band of unshaded light that may cause dry areas on the plants, bench, or floor.
