Football closes spring with Red-White game
Bill Kinneberg Kyle WhittinghamGreg Marsden
With school drawing to a close, finals approaching and spring finally here,
is it hard to keep your athletes focused?
Bill Kinneberg- baseball- “You’re in such a routine that the week of finals is di!cult. Practice times are altered and hope-fully the guys have done a good job leading up to finals and can concentrate on both things. For players it’s a trying time, but every school and player has to go through it.”
Greg Marsden- gymnastics- “Right now is our crunch time, everything we’ve worked for is here; so if nice weather is dis-tracting us, we have a serious problem.”
Kyle Whittingham- football- “No. In fact we’ve pulled a bunch of players o" the field to help them finish o" their academics and that’s always priority one. If we have a guy in question in any way, shape or form, he won’t be out here practicing.”
MIKE MANGUM/The Daily Utah Chronicle
The Utes face o! during a scrimmage on Saturday. Utah will host the annual Red-White spring scrimmage on Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature “drafted” teams by coaches Brian Johnson and Morgan Scalley.
