Back in 2003, I started BLACK MARKET with one simple goal: to make the perfect frame for myself and a few of my friends. I chose S&M Bikes to build my dream bike, a company started with the same simple goal.

Since the start, the Black Market Team has been a blue-collar operation…making the best out of what we have. Our riders work real jobs changing your oil, packing your orders, and sometimes even delivering them to you personally.

Now, 5 years later Black Market has become a staple in the freestylin’ side of mountain biking and continues to bring out products that are tested and ridden by the people who designed them in the first place.

Having no luck finding a decent frame for his brand of 26” riding, Carter Holland conceived the original Black Market Mob 5 years ago and the industry benchmark was set. Hand crafted in Southern California entirely of True Temper SuperTherm tubing, the Mob is truly 100% American Made. Often imitated but never duplicated.

The Black Market Riot offers the same superior handling characteristics as the Mob at a fraction of the cost. Using Mob geometry and 100% heat treated 4130 CrMo, we build the Riot in Taiwan to our same exacting quality control standards. Being on a budget is OK, riding a piece of “Shunk” is not.

All BLACK MARKET frames are designed for 1 1/8” integrated style headsets (Campagnolo compatible 45°/45° with 41.8mm O.D. cups), Euro bottom brackets, 10mm rear axles, and 27.2mm seatposts. All dimensions and geometry are based around a 26” tire and a 457mm axle to crown fork.
