ROCK-N-RIVER MARATHON – Race Weekend Details Aid Stations: The following Aid Stations are the most heavily used and are hit by ALL runners: Booth Street Bridge – Aided by Trader Joe’s; Crissie Caughlin Park Aided by Reno Running and Fitness; Patagonia Aided by Striders. West side 1. Booth Street Bridge (Trader Joe's) 2. West End of Crooked Mile (IGT) 3. Crissie Caughlin Park ( Reno Running and Fitness) 4. Mayberry Drive/Idlewild (New York Life) 5. Northside of the round-a-bout (about a mile walk in) 6. Dorascar park (IGT) 7. Patagonia -- turnaround (The Striders) East side (marathon only) 8. First Street -- City Hall between Cal Neva (Kristin Hodge and family) 9. Reno Gazette Journal dirt lot (ROTC) 10. Mental Health Building (ROTC) 11. Rock Park (ROTC) 12. Linda/Cooney Island Drive (ROTC) 13. Off Spice Island Drive east of ATECH Corp. (ROTC) 14. off river path behind Rutherford's (ROTC) (turnaround for marathoners is at the Alamo) NOTE: 1. All aid station race crew members (volunteers) must meet on the Harrah's Plaza before 6:00 a.m. for check-in and then will be bused to assigned locations (with the exception of aid station # 3 and # 7). 2. The McQueen High ROTC students must stay together and work as a unit (6 people per aid station all on the eastside of the course). 3. There must be at a minimum 5 people at each aid station at all times. 4. Race crew badges must be worn with emergency numbers on the back. Bring cell phones for emergencies. 5. A brief tutorial will be given Friday night for aid station and traffic volunteers. 6. The first race starts at 6:30 a.m. (marathon). 7. We encourage decorated stations with a company banner and/or theme. Viewer Standing Locations for All Races: The following are viewer standing areas: Virginia Street from Harrah’s Plaza down to 1 st Street on both sides of the street. • Patagonia (Largest viewing point with music) • Alamo (only for full marathon viewers) Parking for runners and spectators/supporters: Free parking is available in the downtown area avoiding any street closures. Street closures: Road closures include: • Commercial Street to Virginia Street (Closed from Saturday, May 2 at 3 a.m. to Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m.) • So. Virginia Street to 1st Street • 1st Street to Arlington • Booth Street * All road closures reopening are dependent on runners finishing.   A comprehensive calendar of events and timing: • Friday, May 1: Athlete / Volunteer Dinner at 7 p.m. at Harrah’s Reno with guest speaker Tim Twietmeyer.

Twietmeyer is a Western States Endurance Run record holder from Auburn, Calif. and is a dedicated marathon racer who participants in events throughout the country. He is one of the running world’s most well-known athletes.

Runners registered for the Rock-n-River Marathon pay just $5 for the no-host bar and pasta dinner hosted by Harrah’s. Volunteers for the 2nd annual race eat FREE. • Saturday, May 2: Health and Wellness Expo at Harrah’s Reno from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is FREE and

open to the public and marathon athletes. Lunch provided by Trader Joe’s. Registered runners must attend the Expo to receive race packets with the official race t-shirt, race bib, timing materials, course information and swag. Athletes not yet signed up for the marathon can register at the Expo.

• Sunday, May 3: RACE DAY! Full marathon begins at 6:30 a.m., Half marathon at 7 a.m., 10K at 7:30 a.m. and the Kids Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. All races start and finish at the famous Reno Arch.

Post race activities include: Music entertainment by The Jackals from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; FREE massages given by the Ralston School of Massage; Following the races, award ceremony for full and half marathon and 10K; Snacks provided by Trader Joe’s; Ice cream and Circus Circus Mid-Way Passes for Kids Fun Run participants; Skinny Water providing water and music.
