Definition

Vacuum Suction is a

mechanical method of

lymphatic drainage where

waste products are removed

form the skin via the lymphatic

system.

VACUUM

SUCTION

Skin Type /Condition

Normal skins

Deep cleansing and gentle

stimulation

Oily and blemished skins

Aid in decongestion

Dry, Dehydrated skins

Stimulate the circulation

Improve cellular regeneration

when a rich lubricant is used

Mature skins

Help delay the formation of

new lines

General Effect

Mechanical effect with

negative air pressure

Specific Effects & Benefits

Deep cleansing to remove

blockages and congestion

Removal of waste products

via the lymphatic system

Improve skin texture due to

desquamation

Improved skin colour due to

increase in circulation

Increase nutrients and oxygen

to the area.

Most important contraindication

Swollen lymph nodes

Infected sinus (sinusitis)

Others contraindication

Cancer

Open wounds

Rosacea

Acute inflammation

Heart conditions

Sensitive skin

Acne vulgaris

Pustules

Hyperthyroidism

Thrombosis (blood clotting)

Loose creepy skin

Recent scar tissue

Used for how long?

20mins for whole treatment

Repeat each area no more than

3 times

Lymph Nodes Sub-Mandibular

Sub-Mental

Buccal

Parotid

Pre and Post Auricular

Infra-Orbital

Temporalis

Deep and Superficial Cervical

Supraclavicular

Occipital

Safety

Check for contraindication

Perform electrical checks

Select correct ventouse size

Ensure no cracks or chips

Test vacuum on self first

Must remember to apply

lubricant to skin

Ensure suction do not exceed

15%

Always start from the neck

Apply strokes in the direction

of the lymph node

Break suction before

removing ventouse from face

to avoid brusing client’s skin

Electrical Information

Electrically driven pump

which is connected to a glass

ventouse via a flexible plastic

tube.

The pump draws air form the

ventouse, causing the air

pressure to be reduced,

forming a partial vacuum and

lifting the underlying tissue

into the ventouse.

Equipments: Main swith

control, intensity controller,

electrical pump, plastic tube,

glass ventouse and suction

valve – inlet and out spray.
