AM Rush vs. PM Rush
• For the AM rush, the Q train should reverse on the Queens-bound side
• For the PM rush, the Q train should reverse on the Manhattan-bound side

Additional Capacity
• With 5-8 trains per hour and additional 10,000 to 16,000 passengers could be served in 21St, Roosevelt Island, and Lex
• Does not take away capacity of 63 St connector in LIC
• Does not take away capacity from Rockefeller Center

Using Switching / SignalingThat Already Exists
• Previously, trains terminated at 21St Queensbridge with switch and reverse
• Trains reverse/cross in opposite directions elsewhere in the system (e.g., 34 Street and 6 Ave)
• By using the Queens-bound platform for reverse/switch for AM rush, if there are any delays in reversing, it doesn’t back up into the incoming rush trains (e.g., 63 St connector in LIC)
