GOALS

• KOD contributed to the standardization efforts developing an ODL structure based on agent technology, that incorporates the hability to personalize data retrieval according to user profile and goals

CLASICAL ADAPTABLE SOLUTIONS:

-IMS-CP -IEEE-LOM (learning object metadata)

-LIP (Learning Information profile)

ADAPTABLE = Modifications based on an unmodified learner profile

ADAPTIVE = Changing automatically at usage time

KOD ADAPTIVE SOLUTION

-Extended IMS (mapping+ruling)

-NKM=Navigable knowledge map

-LMS modified (learning management system)

Knowledge Object Window Create a structured object

i.e. Folder containing a text and a picture

Fill the structure with resources

Step 3 – Knowledge Organization

KO= Knowledge Object - Aggregation of raw assets within a syntactical lay out. Can be preview

Page 15: 2000- Kod-Knowledge on demand

Step 4 – Associate Delivery Style

Associate style to KO create a web page

Create folder and sub-folder structure

Drag Knowledge Organization and raw

resources in the organization

Step 6 – Organise Resources & KOs in the Content Packaging Format

Page 18: 2000- Kod-Knowledge on demand

01/05/23 18

Define Prescriptive Rule

Define SCORM Pre-requisites

Rules are attached to KO and read during the delivery of content

Step 7 – Associate Adaptation Rules

LMS execute daptation rules located in the KOD-XML manifest.

• Individuals- type students-• Topics (introductory/advanced)• Learning style

Contents can be previewed in a browser, with rules emulation

Step 8 – Preview the Learning Package

Page 20: 2000- Kod-Knowledge on demand

RESULTSPERSONALIZATION

REUTILIZATION

KOD Agents collaborate to provide

•a distributed Knowledge Publishing and Brokerage System

•they gather knowledge about a particular learner profile in order to

•adapt their delivery of targeted knowledge

within the boundaries defined by this profile.
