THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS

The use of portable automotive lifting and support devices is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the use and operation of the equipment who are careful, competent, trained, and qualified in the safe operation of the equipment and its proper use. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly secured loads, overloading, off-centered loads, use on other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.

2. Attachthesmallbraces(#22)tothepositioningplate(#23)usingthehexbolts(#8),washers(#10)andnuts(#11).Donottighten. Attachtheotherendsofthesmallbraces(#22)tothelegs(#12)usingthebolts(#15),washers(#14)andnuts(#13).Donottighten.

3. Attachthemiddlebraces(#24)tothelegs(#12)usingthebolts(#16)andlockwashersprovided.Donottighten.

4. Repeatstep3butwiththelongbraces(#25).Tightenallhardwarementionedinsteps1through4.

5. Inserttheextensionscrew(#4)throughthebottomopeningofthepost(#7)andturnthepostatadownwardanglesothescrew extends out the top of the post.

6. Fitthebearingassembly(#6)overthescrew(#4)andthenthreadtheadjustinghandle(#5)ontothescrew(#4).

7. Securethesaddlebase(#3)tothetopofthescrew(#4)withthelockingbolt(#17).Securethesaddlepadassy(#2)tothesaddle base(#3)withthefourbolts(#1).

8. Inserttheentirepostassemblythroughthetopoftheconnectingplate(#9)andthepositioningplate(#23).Securethepost assemblytothetripodstandusingthepin(#19)andRpin(#18).Insertthepin(#19)throughtheholeintheconnectingplate(#9) andanycorrespondingholeinthepost(#7).Makesurethepingoesthroughbothsidesoftheconnectingplate(#9)andthepost (#7)beforesecuringthepin(#19)withtheRpin(#18).

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death. 1. Makesurethevehicleisproperlysupported,stableandattherequiredworkheightbeforepositioningthestand(s)underthe vehicle component to be supported.

2. Consulttheliftandvehiclemanufacturerfortheproperpositioningoftheunderhoiststands.

3. Oncethestand(s)hasbeenpositionedproperlyunderthevehicle,holdthestand'ssaddleinplacewithonehandwhileturningthe spinhandleinaclockwisedirectionwiththeotherhand.Removetheonehandfromthestand'ssaddlewhenitcomescloseto making contact with the vehicle.

4. Continueturningthestand'sspinhandleinaclockwisedirectionuntilitapplieslightpressureagainstthecomponent.This pressure should not exceed what is required to support the vehicle. Excessive pressure might cause the vehicle or its component to become unstable.

5. Beforeremovingthestandfromthevehicle,makesurethevehicleisstillproperlypositionedonthelift.Removalofthestandcan be accomplished by turning the spin handle in a counterclockwise direction until the stand's saddle is clear of the vehicle.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedforthePREVENTATIVEMAINTENANCEsectionofthismanualtoalertyouto potential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.

1. Alwaysstorethestandinawellprotectedareawhereitwillnotbeexposedtoinclementweather,corrosivevapors,abrasivedust, or any other harmful elements. The stand must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter before using.

2. Useageneralpurposegreasetolubricatetheextensionscrew.

3. Everystandownerisresponsibleforkeepingthestandlabelscleanandreadable.Useamildsoapsolutiontowashexternal surfaces of the stand. If product labels are lost or not legible, contact an authorized K-Tool International repair center for replacements.

4. Inspectthestandsbeforeeachuse.Donotusethestandsifanycomponentiscracked,brokenorbent.Donotusethestandif it has loose or missing hardware or components, or is modified in any way. Take corrective action before using the stand again. Prematurewearingordamagetocomponentscausedbylooseormissinghardwareisnoteligibleforwarrantyconsideration.

K-Tool International warrants that all jacks and service-related equipment will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a periodof2yearsfollowingtheoriginaldateofpurchase.Thiswarrantyisextendedtotheoriginalretailpurchaseronly.Ifanyjackorservice-related item proves to be defective during this period, it will be replaced or repaired, at K-Tool International’s option, without charge. This warranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommended. This warranty does not cover repairs made by anyonewhoisnotaK-ToolInternationalProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedRepairCenter.

AllHDandXDjacksorservice-relatedequipmentwillbereplacedorrepairedatK-ToolInternational’soptionduringthe2yearwarrantyperiod.

Duringthe2yearwarrantyperiod,allallegeddefectiveproductsmustbeshipped,freightprepaid,alongwithproofofdate-of-purchase,to your nearest K-Tool International Professional Lifting Equipment AuthorizedWarranty Center. Be certain to include your name,address and phone number along with proof-of-purchase information, and a brief description of the alleged defect. The product will be returned to the customer, freight prepaid.

3. Unavezquesehayancolocadoadecudadentela(s)base(s)debajodelvehículo,sostengalasilladelabaseconunamano, mientrasquesegireelmangoderotaciónenelsentidodelasagujasdelrelojconlaotramano.Quitelamanodelasilladela base cuando ésta está al punto de hacer contacto con el vehículo.

4. Sigaagirarelmangoderotacióndelabaseenelsentidodelasagujasdelrelojhastaqueseapliqueunapresiónligeracontrael componente.Lapresiónnodebeexcederlaqueserequieraparasoportarelvehículo.Unapresiónexcesivapuedeocasionarque el vehículo o su componente se vuelva inestable.

5. Antesdeextraerlabasedelvehículo,asegúresequeelvehículoestécolocadoadecuadamentesobreeldispositivode levantamiento.Sepuedelograrextraerlabasealgirarelmangoderotaciónenelcontrasentidodelasagujasdelrelojhasta que la silla de la base se haya despejado del vehículo.

Silasetiquetassehanperdidoosisonilegibles,comuníquesecon un centro de reparaciones autorizado de K-Tool International por repuestos.

4. Inspeccionelasbasesantesdecadauso.Nouselasbasesdesoportesicualquiercomponenteestéagrietado,roto,odoblado. Nouselabasesicuentaconferreteríaocomponentesflojosofaltantes,osiéstahayasidomodificadadecualquierforma.Tome accionescorrectivasantesdeusarlabasedenuevo.Eldesgasteprematuroodañosaloscomponentesocasionadospor ferretería floja o faltante no son elegibles para consideraciones de garantía.
