Next Sunday is Resurrection Day.

We will have the morning service only.

Children’s Church will give a performance to

celebrate.

I will preach a Resurrection Message that shows the love

of God toward us.

One of the first things David desired to do as king of Israel

Was to bring the Ark of God home.

The venture began with joy, but David made a

mistake.

God had told them how to transport the

Ark.

Page 4: 2 samuel 6b

4

God struck Uzzah dead after he touched the Ark.

David left it at the home of Obed-Edom, afraid to

move it farther.

Page 5: 2 samuel 6b

5

2 Sam 6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.

God punished David for improper handling, not for

wanting the Ark home.

1 Chronicles 15 11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, 12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify your-selves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it. 13 For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought HIM not after the due order.

King David saw his error, confessed it, and turned

to the Right Way -- God’s Way.

Always ready and willing to repent.

12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the Ark of God. So David went and brought up the Ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness.

9

David wanted God’s blessings.

His heart was always toward God.

He would do whatever God required.

Page 10: 2 samuel 6b

10

13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

Too often the goal of men is to “git-er-done”.

We need to never be in a hurry, but rather be striving to do things well and right.

God’s Way may not be the most efficient way.

It will be the most kind, loving, and patient way.

14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the Ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

David held nothing back in his worship.

16 And as the Ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dan-cing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

There are too many Michals in too many churches:

People doing nothing, but critical of anyone doing anything.

Page 13: 2 samuel 6b

13

17 And they brought in the Ark of the LORD, and set it in His place, in the midst of the tabernacle (tent) that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offer-ings before the LORD.

Hebrews 13 15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name.

What kind of offerings does God want from us?

Page 14: 2 samuel 6b

14

18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the Name of the LORD of hosts. 19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

Generosity It’s a necessity in serving God.

Page 15: 2 samuel 6b

15

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said (sarcastically), How glorious was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

His wife accused him of just showing off.She was ashamed and embarrassed of his worship.

Page 16: 2 samuel 6b

16

Those who will not worship the Lord are often embarrassed by those who zealously do.

Know your own heart; if you are sincere before God, pay no mind to the naysayers.

Page 17: 2 samuel 6b

17

21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play (laugh and play) before the LORD. 22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honor. You ain’t seen

nothing yet!Like any good parent, God loves to see His children joyfully at play.

Page 18: 2 samuel 6b

18

23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

God took vengeance on Michal for her scorn.

People should be very careful how they criticize the worship of others.

Psalm 150 1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power. 2 Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His excellent greatness. 3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp.

Psalm 33 3 Sing unto HIM a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.

God loves music; He likes it good; He likes it loud.

Psalm 150:4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.!!!

As David did -- praise Him with

all our might!!
