Use a Venn diagram to
compare and contrast two
characters from the story you just
read.
How do you think the story could
have ended differently? Create a new ending for this
story.
Think about a character from
the story. Design a new place for
your character to live based on their
characteristics.
Create who, what, why, where, when and how questions
for a friend to answer after they read the book you
just finished.
Pretend you are the main
character. Write dialogue that you, as the character,
would say. Justify your thinking.
Create a Beginning, Middle and End chart. Fill in the three sections with the events from the
story.
Identify the genre of the
story and create a list of other
stories that are of the same
genre.
Illustrate the moral of the story. Include text that
identifies the moral.
Prove that the character in the
story either made a good
choice or a poor choice. Cite
your evidence.
Identify the antagonist. Cite
examples that prove that they
are the “bad guy” in the
story.
Compare how a character from
the story handled the
problem to how you would have
handled it.
Draw your character.
Surround your picture with
words to describe the character.
Choose a friend to act out what the character did and what
they could have done
differently.
Write about your favorite part of
the story. Describe what the
main character was doing during
this part.
Draw your character with a speech bubble above its head. Write something your character
would say.
Create a puppet. Reenact how your character acted in the story when a
conflict arose.
