This practical, powerful ‘hands on’ training addresses
consultant engineers, contractors and employers who are
interested in the correct and effective management of FIDIC
contracts. This course focuses on the management
procedures in respect of testing, payments, design review,
suspension, programming, submission of bank guarantees,
measurement, etc, and shall train and qualify the parties
and the engineer to manage claims and variations properly.
Designed how have an active engagement approach with,
case studies and best practice examples.
This course will be will be taught by internationally
renowned FIDIC Contracts expert, Dr. Sebastian Hök (PhD),
Germany, who possess in depth experience as a member of
engineer teams on projects in the gulf area and other parts
of the world.
DR. SEBASTIAN HӦK Graduated in Law from Göttingen University and is a German solicitor registered at the Berlin
Bar. He has extensive international project and commercial experience gained while living and
working in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. For the past 20 years he has been partner
and senior partner of Dr. Hök, Stieglmeier & Kollegen. Dr. Hök is acting as arbitrator, adjudicator
and legal counsel and also a fully accredited FIDIC trainer. He is a lecturer at Berlin University of
applied science for construction contract management. Since 2009 he is a FIDIC listed
Adjudicator.
As an international standard of contracts, this workshop
will not only prove beneficial but provide the essential
knowledge to professionals involved with the next
generation of International Projects.
These include but are not limited to Government
Ministries, Construction Companies, Funding Agencies,
Private Sector Companies, Consulting Engineers and
Architects, to Manufacturing Companies, Insurers and
Contractors (EPC).
The International Federation of Consulting Engineers www.fidic.org, have over the years
exercised its mandate, in publishing international standard forms of contracts for works and for clients, for use in
construction projects. It has since facilitated the international business practice of Consulting Engineers to establish
norms that are used all over the world to perform and deliver services to their clients.

The Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build (The 1999 Yellow Book)
The Conditions of Contract for EPC Turnkey Projects (The 1999 Silver Book)
He was member of DAB and arbitral panels in Bosnia, Germany, Latvia, Tanzania and Poland. Dr. Hök has written various
books and articles in French, English and German on FIDIC forms of contract. He is a co-author of the book FIDIC for
Practitioners and member of the German Dispute Adjudication Assessment Panel and former past Chairman of Eurojuris
Commission International Litigation. He was also a friendly reviewer of the FIDIC Gold Book and the FIDIC Subcontract form.
He currently advising two FIDIC Task Groups, including the D&B Subcontract. Since 2011 he is the Chair of the FIDIC
Trainers´ Assessment Panel. Dr. Hök has broad forensic experience as a counsel. He was involved in projects and conducted
trainings on FIDIC throughout the world, in particular in Algeria, Angola, Australia, Azerbaidjan, Belgium, Bosnia, Cameroon,
Chile, Dubai, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Laos, Latvia, Oman, Qatar, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Syria, Tanzania,
Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Botswana, India, Philippines, Korea and Serbia.

Cancellations, Refunds & Substitutions
Refunds (less 10% for administration costs) will be made for
cancellations received in writing, no later than 2 WEEKS
before the event. No refunds will be made after this date.
Delegate substitutions can be made at anytime. We reserve
the right to cancel the event for reasons beyond the control
