The Mask of Materialism I Timothy 6:10 What is materialism? Kicking God off the throne and placing

something else there. The secular view of success: Money = Power The Biblical view of success: To bring glory and honor to God.

The Mask of Hypocrisy Matthew 23 The Pharisees appeared religious

outwardly, but underneath the mask was hypocrisy and rottenness.

They had two great sins: 1. Holding others to a different

standard. 2. Their righteous was only external.

The Mask of Immorality How you present yourself sends a

message. Immorality comes with consequence.

Lessons from Genesis 38: 1. Modesty Matters 2. Sexual immorality is sinful. 3. Sin comes with consequences.

The Mask of Prejudice Galatians 2:11-14 Prejudice and discrimination is still

alive and well, and the only way to defeat it is to expose and replace it with love and equality.

Galatians 3:28 If our speech says one thing, but our

actions say another, are we any better than what Peter did to the Gentiles?

The Mask of Silence Christians are living in an ever increasing,

sinful tolerant society, and its pastime we stop hiding our faith and take a stand against the evils in our time.

How does something as horrible as the holocaust ever happen? 6 million

A similar holocaust almost happened roughly 2,300 years earlier, but it stopped because one person decided not to remain silent. (Esther 3:1-4:14)

The Mask of Disguise Super Heroes II Corinthians 11- Satan will never show his

real face. Satan will appear in whatever form you want him. He is a liar, murderer, deceiver, roaring lion, and even appears as an angel of light.

When Satan considers God’s people, he notices all the objects of our affections.

Along with the temptation, Satan will provide a way to take advantage of that temptation.

The Mask of Disguise He will mask this opportunity as pleasurable,

enjoyable, and desirable. Both God and Satan are pulling for you, but

you cast the final vote. The good news is that you can withstand the

devil. The Bible tells us about the times some of our

heroes gave into temptation, but also tells of their triumphs!

Life is too short and eternity is too long to be fooled by Satan in a mask.
