The advantages of this model of development are : a hub : Le Havre (the westernmost port, first one before the Strait of the Pas de Calais) a World City : Paris • the addion of port facilies and a powerful producon system (the Seine Valley Industrial) the connecon of the first French port complex to the first French airport complex (Roissy CDC) a central posion in the shiſt of flow (saturaon of the north-south corridor) a strong ability to take the goods and to send it by : river, rail, road and short sea shipping the valorizaon of industrial sites which must be converted by the effect of a worldwide access provided by the Gateway the valorizaon of agricultural producon, by transforming it (agribusiness) and by consolidang their exports both by waterways and by sea the ability to process all the waste chain : the transformaon, the management of transport flows but also the adaptaon of industrial equipment. Based on the added value due to the flow, Seine Gateway ® will develop economic acvies. This is the implementaon of a high value logisc eco-system which will develop synergies between logiscs, industry, distribuon, trade and other terary acvies. At the connental scale, the project Seine Gateway ® is part of the western Europe system. It will strengthen the marime access to Paris, while promong synergies with all territories of the Seine Valley and the regions that are connected whether French, European or located on other connents. WEASTFlows aim is to develop a sustainable networkforlogiscandfreighttransportaon in North West Europe. It’s an opportunity to link the Seine Gateway® to the European freight network and to develop the Norman ports and HAROPA (holding of Ports of Paris, Port of Le Havre and Port of Rouen), especially the connecon from their hinterland to Germany and Central and East Europe. WEASTFlows is the first step in the construcon of an European Gateway that will strenghten the European economy in the face of new markets and globalisaon.
