Reading Workshop:-Point of View RL.1.6. Identify who is telling the story at various points in a text-Asking Questions

Writing Workshop/Word Study:-Finished a 2nd rough draft of opinion writing including an opening statement of opinion, reasons of agreement/disagreement, quotes of support from peers, and a closing statement.-Introduction to writing reviews-February Letters home, expanding on a single topic-Common Nouns, proper nouns, verbs

Math Workshop:MD.4 Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.

Learning Goals:-I can collect data-I can sort data into separate groups-I can graph data-I can answer questions about graphs

If you are looking for something to do at home: I added the Measurement and Data standards to Tenmarks. Students can log on to preview/practice these standards or review previous standards.

Content : -States of Matter: 3 investigations involving all states of matter (making Jello, Purple Cows, Cornstarch and Water)-Review by playing Jeopardy-Assessment of States of Matter-February STEM Challenge

Other:-Read Across America: Such a fun week of reading, supporting the Special Olympics, and class/school spirit.
