ent WELCOME to the 2020-21 school year!
Cornwall-Lebanon School District is pleased to provide you with this District Calendar of Events. Parents, especially are encouraged to take a few minutes to review the front pages of the calendar to learn how to easily navigate the District website to locate a wealth of resources, including school policies, and information specific to each building.
Contact information for all District administrators and schools is listed on the back cover of this calendar. The back cover resource listing will assist you in identifying the most appropriate person to contact if you have questions, concerns, or comments about school district matters.
Stay current with district and student news by following Cornwall-Lebanon School District on our Facebook and Twitter social media sites. Parents will receive important communications directly from their child’s building administrator via the Message Center in CLSD Skyward Parent Access. Also, parents may choose to sign up to receive phone calls or emails sent through the Skylert Emergency Notification System.
Parent and community support at Cornwall-Lebanon School District is an integral part of maintaining a successful school district with high quality academic and extra-curricular opportunities for students. The continued support you provide for the students in Cornwall-Lebanon School District is greatly appreciated. We encourage families and community members to attend school district activities, as feasible.
Please know that at any time, due to COVID-19 concerns, we may need to limit the number of individuals permitted to attend any of the athletic, extra- or co-curricular offerings published in this calendar; cancel events/activities; or move events/activities to an online format, if that is an option.
As long as there are cases of COVID-19 in the community, our goal is to keep transmission as low as possible by adhering to our CLSD Health and Safety Plan to safely continue school activities for our students and staff members. (You can view the plan on our website.)
Check the online calendar at www.clsd.k12.pa.us for the most up-to-date status of events and activities.
Thank you for your support of the students in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. Let’s enjoy a great year of learning and growing together!
Sincerely,
Philip L. Domencic, Ed.D.

Emergency Notification System (Skylert) Cornwall-Lebanon School District utilizes Skylert, an Emergency Notification System. Parents may choose to provide the school with a home phone number, work phone number, cell phone number, or e-mail address by logging on to the CLSD Skyward Family Access in the Skylert section. If a work phone number is listed that is not a direct line to the parent, the school cannot guarantee that the message will reach the parent. Therefore, parents may want to list another number, a number of another person, and/or inform their employer that they have given us their number. It is important that our information be accurate in order for the system to fulfill its intended purpose. Please update your information in the Skylert section if it changes. Call lists will be updated regularly.
Inclement Weather Procedures The decision to close school or open two hours later will be announced before 7:00 a.m. via Skylert phone/email messaging and on local radio and TV stations listed below. It also will be posted on the District Home page: www.clsd.k12.pa.us and on our Facebook and Twitter social media accounts. When adverse weather conditions develop during school hours, the stations will be advised and will announce the time of dismissals. Please do not place calls to the school because the telephones may be needed for emergencies. Consult the CLSD homepage for current information and important announcements.
Parents are urged to devise and discuss a plan of action for young children when no one is home during early dismissals or delays.
Television Stations: Radio AM Station: WGAL Channel 8 (NBC) WLBR 1270 WHTM Channel 27 (ABC) WHP Channel 21 WPMT FOX 43

Modified Kindergarten Schedule To make the morning and afternoon classes of kindergarten more equitable, in the event of any two-hour delay during inclement weather, the following modified schedule for kindergarten children will be placed in effect: AM Kindergarten: 11:00 AM-12:45 PM (expected arrival time at home will be one hour later). nts Concern Resolution Process
From time to time, concerns and/or complaints arise that require a process for reconciliation. In these instances, the individual with the complaint should seek a remedy with the party most directly involved, i.e., teacher, bus driver, or administrator. If some mutual resolution cannot be reached, the complaint should be addressed to the building principal. In the event the problem still remains unsettled, contact should be made with the Director of Elementary Education, Director of Secondary Education, or the Superintendent. Concerns that are not reconciled at this level should be directed to the Board of School Directors for their consideration.
Board of School Directors
The Board of School Directors has established the following meeting dates for the 2020-21 school year. Regular Monthly Board Meetings and the Reorganization Meeting are held in the Large Group Instruction Room at Cedar Crest High School, 115 East Evergreen Road, Lebanon, Pa. Public Work Session meetings are held in the Board Room of the District’s Educational Service Center, 105 East Evergreen Road, Lebanon, Pa. All meetings begin at 5:30 PM. Other meetings of the Board of School Directors may be scheduled during the year, as needed. Due to COVID-19, meetings may be held online. Check the District website to confirm meeting location.

Schedule of Board MeetingsUnless noted otherwise, all meetings are held on Mondays.
The Public Work Session meeting is a public meeting held to review the agenda items for that month’s Regular Board Meeting. The Regular Board Meeting is the regular monthly Board meeting. Board activities will take place at the Regular Board Meeting, although the Board may take action at any of these public meetings. Board Agendas are posted online the day of a Regular Board meeting. Click on School Board under the Our District tab on the District website (www.clsd.k12.pa.us) and select Board Docs - Meeting Agendas from the dropdown tab. Board Minutes are posted online in the same location.
Volunteers & Chaperones in Our Schools Cornwall-Lebanon School District greatly appreciates the volunteers and chaperones who provide assistance to students and teachers through their participation in classroom support as well as special events and activities. Volunteers are essential to the success of students. Anyone who will be serving as long-term or short-term volunteers for the Cornwall-Lebanon School District must submit completed clearances to the School District prior to serving as a volunteer. Volunteers will need background clearances if they will be involved directly in the care, supervision, guidance or control of children, and have routine interaction with children while in a district school or on district grounds. This includes persons with direct or regular contact with children through any school-sponsored program, activity, event or service, including school-sponsored youth programs, recreational programs, sports or athletic programs, outreach programs, enrichment programs, or similar programs or events conducted on district property. Please consult the District website for additional information: www.clsd.k12.pa.us. Look under the Community tab.
