This 8-week class is your chance to finally feel confident getting up on the

dance floor at the next wedding you attend! Find a partner who wants to learn

and both sign up! ATTIRE: Clean, soft-soled shoes, or just socks, and comforta-

ble clothing. Please remove shoes before entering dance room. $150 per cou-

New instructor! Walker Wilson began training at Turning Pointe in

Holland. Walker has performed at Michigan Ballet Academy, instructed

at Arthur Murray National Franchise, and also teaches ballroom dancing privately

and to groups. Along with Dance, he enjoys hockey, painting, and wood working.

Try out Pickleball with our Winter Pickleball group at the Park Township

Community Building (1286 Ottawa Beach Rd). All equipment is provided for

new players. With our punch cards, you can play as often or as little as you’d

like (although most players can’t get enough). Drop in style. Register and

more! We will practice, practice, practice and even make a

set of hand warmers. You will leave this class with the confi-

dence and knowledge to begin your love of sewing! Class is

Over 4 sessions, we will learn to develop cartoons for fun and communica-

tive applications (organizing your thoughts, expressing ideas, notes to your

loved ones, and illustrating humor). We'll show you how to start with simple

shapes and build up to drawing cartoons of anything. Then you will learn

how to bring those drawings to life with simple expressions, gestures, ac-

tions and layout techniques. Anyone can learn! Treat yourself, you won't

regret it! (Ages 16 and up). Class is taught by Wade Gugino, owner of

“My Parents and I” is a catch-up grammar/

writing workshop for kids who find grammar or

writing homework particularly challenging.

Learn some tips and tricks to make it a bit easier

to get that homework completed successfully!

Suitable for upper elementary, middle, and high school students. Par-

ents may attend individually or with one or two students. In this ac-

tion-packed two-hour workshop, we’ll discuss parts of speech, word

choice, sentence structure, and paragraph development. You’ll learn

some “dress-ups” for your writing, as well as various sentence open-

ers and “decorations” you can use to make your writing more inter-

esting and effective. Bring your questions and individual challenges,

and you’ll go home with answers as well as a new set of tools you can

use to excel in your school writing assignments. Both Sessions held at

Park Township Community Building, 1286 Ottawa Beach Rd. Work-

shop Tuition: Parents with 1-2 children: $20. $5/additional children.

Boater Safety: Earn your Boating Safety Certificate!

Boating Safety will be taught by the Ottawa County

Sheriff’s Office. This course is classroom instruction

only. The class will cover how to operate a watercraft

in accordance to Michigan laws. Anyone born after

Dec. 31st 1978 must have a Boater Safety certificate to legally operate

a personal watercraft. Anyone born after July 1st 1996 must have a

certificate to operate a boat. Anyone under 12 must be accompanied

by an adult. The class size is limited to 30 students. April 17-18,

6:00-9:00pm, Park Township Fire Station, 12 S. 160th Ave

Hunter Safety: The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Tulip City Rod

and Gun Club will be offering the Michigan DNR Hunter Safety course.

This course involves classroom instruction as well as hands on training

with live fire. Students under 12 years old must be accompanied by an

adult. Due to the shooting range size, we are unable to accept any-

more than 20 students. Must attend both class and range day.

staff at Long Range Archery will teach the fundamentals

of archery in a 5-week course. Students will learn prop-

er safety, as well as the 6 steps to success and accuracy.

Bring your bow if you have one, if not, one will be pro-

If your child has wanted to see what being a

ninja is all about then this is the camp for

them! All Ninjas will participate in the

same ninja activities—scaled to their age and level. Your ninja

will build their strength, flexibility and coordination as they

navigate military-style obstacle courses. Great balance to walk

like ninjas will be accomplished through low set slacklines. Fi-

nesse and eye hand coordination will be achieved by utilizing

the tools of the trade. Ninjas will receive both nunchaku and bo

staff training. Ninjas work as a team; your ninja will be part of

fun team building games that will keep them challenged and

laughing at the same time. They can also expect a nature walk

in which they will need to be on the lookout for real ninjas that

will be weaving their way through nature.

On the final day, your ninja will receive a Ninja Certificate of

Completion and will have the opportunity to break their first

board! All kids welcome, ages 5-12. This camp is run by our

local PKSA karate team. Instructors are fully certified in martial

arts training.

Come play Water Polo this Spring! All 5th-8th graders invited. Participants should bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel and a lock to secure their belongings in the locker rooms. Players are re-sponsible for their own transportation to and from both practic-es & tournaments.

Season: March 5th - May 19

Practices: Monday & Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm Practices will be at West Ottawa High School South pool or Harbor Lights pool depending on availability. Schedule will be handed out at practice.

Tournaments: Saturdays typically from 8 am- 2 pm. Hosting teams provide game times typically by Wednesday prior to the tournament date. Tournament locations will be determined before the start of the season. The Tournament schedule will be set by March 20th. Tournament Dates:

Youth sports This day camp will teach your child skills needed to excel in la-

crosse. All skill levels welcome! The class will be taught by Emily

Reverman, and 2016 alumni from the Alma College Women's

Lacrosse Team, and assistant coach for Grand Canyon Universi-

ty's back to back WWLL D2 champs. Sticks and balls provided.

Bring a mouth guard if you have one. Bring a water bottle. Ideal

for ages 7-12. Minimum of 6 kids to run camp. Max 20.

Little Ninjas: The Little Ninjas Karate Program is an introduc-

tory karate class specifically designed for children ages 4 and

5. It focuses on teaching children 8 important main life skills:

Focus, Memory, Teamwork, Discipline, Self-Control, Fitness, Balance and

Coordination. All this is achieved through exciting games and activities! Wear

loose fitting clothes. A responsible adult must remain in attendance during

class. Uniforms will be available for purchase, but are not required for the

class.

Kids Power Karate: The Kids Power Karate Program offers traditional mar-

tial arts training to children ages 6 through 12 and emphasizes self-defense,

physical fitness, conflict resolution, team work and anti-kidnapping tech-

niques. This program is designed specifically for children and teaches preven-

tion first. It does not promote active aggressiveness, but teaches children to

respect themselves, others, and the skills they learn. This introductory pro-

gram to traditional Tang Soo Do has been commended by many communi-

ties, law enforcement personnel, teachers and parents for the positive im-

pact it has on children. It is a 20-year proven program that is positive, fun,

exciting and educational. There is no better program for kids! Wear loose

fitting clothes. A responsible adult must remain in attendance during class.

Uniforms will be available for purchase, but are not required for the class.

Your young dancer will grow in creativity, large and

fine motor skills, sensory integration and beginning

Ballet skills in these 4-week “Try It” classes! In-studio

parent observation the last 10 minutes of the last

class. Must have 5 to run each class. Attire: any color

ballet leotard, tights, ballet shoes (or socks). Hair in a

bun. Dancewear can be purchased at Turning Pointe.

strip layouts and comic book page layouts in this four session class!

Express yourself visually, and learn a super fun talent to share with

acters, you'll be able to add some valuable action, layout and story/

gag telling techniques. Come join the fun! (Ages 6 to 16) Older stu-

New Instructor! Wade Gugino attended Hope Col-

lege and graduated with a business and art composite

degree. Wade has spent several years overseas where

had the opportunity to display his artistic communica-

tions through a number of newspapers and maga-

zines. He returned to the US and founded his com-

pany, GooGenius, which is dedicated to applying

cartoons to a broad spectrum of communicational

needs. Wade looks forward to sharing his passion!

Youth Fine Arts

In this class children and caregivers ex-

plore the universal language of music with

instruments, movement, and songs. Early

exposure to music in this playful environ-

ment positively impacts children’s cogni-

tive, social and emotional development. Children

observe, sing, dance and play along, absorbing

musical concepts that lay important groundwork

for development of the whole child as well as fu-

ture music study. This class is taught by Rebecca

Wierks in collaboration with the Holland Sympho-

ny Orchestra. Rebecca has a bachelor’s degree in

music, and has taught Kindermusik, Music in Me classes and private

music lessons in Holland. 10 student maximum. 1 Session = 8 classes.

Spring youth soccer

Little Kickers Co-ed (2½ -3 ½ ) - $27

Introductory soccer experience designed to introduce basic soccer skills

and game knowledge in a fun and non-competitive environment. ½

hour of age appropriate instruction and ½ hour of games will be com-

pleted on the same night. Games are 3 on 3 with no goalies and parent

coaches act as referees.

Park Township Soccer is dependent on parent coaches! Teammate requests are only granted for

coaches. Each coach may request one player for their team, in addition to their own child. All

coaching material is provided. Coaches must complete the background check form annually, and

the “Heads-Up Concussion Training” one time. Forms can be found on our website. Thank you in
