The words ‘HUMANUS’ and “HUMANITIES” came from Latin stem HOMIN referring to MAN.

Unlike biological and physical sciences, emphasizing on the physical aspects of man and of nature., and are concerned with observable facts and discovery of universal truth, the humanities deals with the branches of study pertaining to cultural achievements of man.

Humanities is a field of science that is concerned with human relations.

Thus, humanities may be defined as the study of man’s nature, his culture, the evolution of his culture, the evolution of his thinking and ideas, his aspirations and ideals, acquired through the examination of his works by historical analysis.
