There are issues in our lives that need to be changed, like bitterness and unforgiveness. The lame man doesn’t answer the question, he complains that there is no one to lift him into the pool. Jesus tells him to “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured and picked up his mat and walked (he obeyed). He was not healed by the water, Jesus didn’t lay hands on him. If we want to be healed, we need to accept change. We are very thankful to Rebecca for playing with her temporary hand-icap and give thanks that the pins came out and she can start physio.

your soul and live.

1st June Prayer & Praise with Communion - Gerard Rootham

Jesus heals at the pool of Bethesda. 1) Am I willing to be changed by Jesus. 2) Do I show my gratitude

to God? When they were on a family holiday on a Greek island, they saw people going into a pool

which had healing properties. They went in but it didn’t feel different. God is the one who heals us.

In Jerusalem there were many disabled people waiting for the pool to stir up so they could go in to

be healed. Jesus noticed a man who had been lame for 38 years. Jesus asks what seems to be a silly

question. “Do you want to get well?” He would lose his livelihood from begging, the sympathy of

others and he would have to be responsible for himself. We need to ask ourselves “Do I want to be

changed?”

We have many blessing from the hand of God. Do we give thanks or take them for granted? When

we look at our blessings, we see less of our need. We need to stop complaining and start thanking.

Come to Jesus as he is the one who gives us life. We need to have compassion on those who don’t

know him.

Lots of people are paralysed in heart or mind. Some are content with how they are, they have got

used to it. They don’t seek God or call out to him (Who is your source?). There are issues in our lives

that need to be changed, like bitterness and unforgiveness. The lame man doesn’t answer the

question, he complains that there is no one to lift him into the pool. Jesus tells him to “Get up! Pick

up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured and picked up his mat and walked (he obeyed).

He was not healed by the water, Jesus didn’t lay hands on him. If we want to be healed, we need to

accept change.

We are very thankful to Rebecca for playing with her temporary hand-icap and give thanks that the

pins came out and she can start physio.

Fellowship and food go so well together.

While out late watering the garden, I saw the light of glow worms! Such a tiny light, yet it pierces the darkness. I like the children’s song ‘This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine’. However small we feel our efforts are, in God’s hands they start a ripple in the lives of others, for his glory. God has given us gifts and talents that we are to use for the benefit of others. He gives us a calling which we need him to equip us for, something we can’t do in our own strength, so it is obvious that it is God at work, in our clay/cracked pot, surrendered vessels. For example, Andrew Wommack was an introvert by nature. He had a gift for teaching. God called him to tell the world His true nature/character. God used Andrew’s natural gift for teaching and equipped him to speak to millions by His Spirit at work in him. Deut 30:19 - 20. This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I will build my church but it will not be made by hands, it will be the hands of my body.
