Dear 1EH, parents and carers, I hope that you are all safe and well and are trying your best to enjoy the lovely sunshine! I know it is hard to stay inside and not see our friends at school but if we all work together and stay inside, this should all be over much quicker. Sadly, school has not re-opened this week so we are unable to be together to complete our work in class. However, that does not mean that learning stops! Because you have worked so hard this year so far, I have put together lots of learning tasks and lessons to make sure our brains stay active and hard at work! If you look on the front page of the school website you can read Miss Turner’s newsletter. She has explained that from next week there will be a Home Learning Zone for all classes and I will post work, tasks and activities that you can complete at home in the 1EH section of the zone- use your yellow lined book to write in for English or spelling tasks and use the red squared maths book for maths work! This pack of work is for you to complete at home. Some of your tasks will involve the internet- I have put the links to each lesson on your lesson instructions. If there is any maps to label or questions to complete, they will be in your pack. In your pack you will find:

- A suggested daily timetable based on the timetable we follow at school, - The week 3 Lesson instructions to follow for each task. - English texts (poems/ stories) - 1EH spellings for week 3 - Mental arithmetic for week 3 - KS1 Spring Art Projects letter

Complete the 10-15 mixed operation questions independently (10-20minutes on their own). Go through each question after and mark together.

-learning times tables and number bonds to 10 and 20 off by heart (you can play games like snap and match the answer to

help this) -simple addition and subtraction. Can children answer these

independently? -measuring.

11:45- 12:30 Lunch and playtime Children can play outside, in their room, board games, card games etc

KS1 Spring Art Project Can you sketch some of the signs of spring you have seen outside in your garden or

on your walks? Think about how you will show shadows (press harder with the pencil). Which

colours will you use? Make sure you use all the space on your paper- nobody wants a tiny plant or flower and lots of white space!

Here are some pictures to help your think about yours! Some have used different colours mixed in (the rose). There are lots of daisies on my grass and tulips in my

garden so I’ll draw one of those! If you are struggling, have a look on YouTube for how to draw certain flowers.
