The Kings Road derives its name fromits function as a private road used byCharles II. Some houses date from theearly 18th century. Composer ThomasArne lived at number 215 and wroteRule Britannia there.

It has been associated with 1960s styleand fashion figures such as Mary Quantand Vivienne Westwood.

During the hippie and punk eras, it wasa centre for counterculture but hassince been gentrified. It serves asChelsea's high street and has a reputation for being one of London'smost sought after shopping districts.

Chelsea’s history, beauty and exclusivityhave made it a desirable place to live forthe rich and famous including OscarWilde, Sir Michael Caine, RobbieWilliams and Hugh Grant. It is also theplayground of our young royals, PrincesWilliam and Harry.

Chelsea Town Hall was built in 1860. Ithas seen more celebrity weddings thanany other registry office and amongthose to marry here are Judy Garland,David Niven, Paul and Linda McCartney,Paula Yates and Bob Geldof and directorRoman Polanski.

e Loving Heart

Author unknown

Someone may love you because you are clever

Someone may love you because you are wise

Someone may love you for beauty or humour

e fun in your heart or the light in your eyes

But if there is one who discovers your failings

And love all the good and bad that is you

is is the love that will last you forever

is is the love that will always be true
