Other Terms CE4XXXX_ACCT, CE40001_ACCT CE41000_ACCT Reason and Prerequisites Solution Up to and including Release 4.0, the system only uses table CE4XXXX to store profitability segments in the profitability analysis. Due to the settings for segment level characteristics in Transaction KEQ3, information gets lost during the determination of the profitability segment. If additional fields have been activated for the CE4 table in KEQ3, the number of profitability segments grows rapidly, which may cause performance problems in reporting, the creation of summarization levels, realignments, or cost center assessment in result. This is why table CE4XXXX_ACCT has been implemented in Release 4.5. In this table, all information available for profitability segments are stored. All applications that account assign to the profitability analysis only receive a number from this table. It is now possible to optimize table CE4XXXX according to the requirements of the reports, and it is no longer necessary to also store account assignment information. This is why the profitability segment numbers in the original documents do no longer correspond with those in the CO-PA line items. When posting to the costing or accounting-based profitability analysis, the system always posts to a real CE4XXXX object. For old profitability segments that have been generated before upgrading to Release 4.5, the numbers are always from table CE4XXXX. Table CE4XXXX_ACCT is always accessed with the primary code, this is why an optimized secondary index is not required. Realignments only access table CE4XXXX. Since every record from the account assignment table CE4XXXX_ACCT refers to a 'real' CE4XXXX record, the assignment changes also affect CE4XXXX_ACCT. The profitability segment numbers in tables CE4XXXX and CE4XXXX_ACCT are generated from the same number range, i.e. object numbers in CE4XXXX do not exist in CE4XXXX_ACCT and vice versa.
