DEDICATION
He taught us with the tools of humor,
philosophy, wit, and Latin phrases,
And math wasn't quite a chore ,
He gave freely and gladly of that most
valuable tool which was himself,
He caused us to think, for he taught
with a true understanding of what he f(
taught ,
And we learned.
It is with deepest gratitude that we
dedicate The Peer to Mr, William
Harper,

BIBLE CLUB The Bible Club of Albemarle High School gives an opportunity to students to study the Bible
and learn about Biblical teachings and characters. This year it has accomplished many things. It has continued to lead devotions every morning
on the Public Addre ss System, to participate in assemblies, and to send Christmas boxes of cookies, cakes, and candy to students in college not being able to go home for the holidays. An activity new to their list was the sponsoring of the contest in wh ich they gave to any student who learned Saint John 3, a New Testament. Also they distributed paper bound books of the Bible to e v ery student i n the school. All of these books, including the New Testaments, w ere given by P . E. Taylor of 15th Street, Charlottes v ille, Virginia.
At regular meetings, 1 o c a 1 ministers told them about different Biblical characters and they had movies on different religions of the world.
With the help of Mrs. Fornes, their sponsor, the members o f the Bible Club feel that the year 195 7-58 has been a successful one and encourage anyone interested in our activities to join the club.
