CAPTAIN RICHARD A. CHUBB, a man of calm and implacable dignity, who died suddenly in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 26, 1954. Personally, he possessed a rare serenity and a limitless patience. All who knew him were fiercely loyal; all who met him came away with admiring respect, and with devotion, we dedi-cate THE SNIPER of 1955.

Gentlemen:

Today, each man in our corps needs to realize his increased responsibil-

ity to God, to country, to family and to self. Because world events are

sweeping us along at a deeper and a swifter pace than ever before,

our need for the very best training we can get in all fields becomes

evident. We now see the world divided into two ideologies. They may

be called by any name, but we must know where we stand and why.

Each of you may be called on to preserve the rights we hold dear. You

have been trained for leadership and no effort has been spared to

mold into each of you the highest standards of character and the strong-

est moral fibre. Be proud that you are a Millersburg man.

The foundations have been laid to prepare you for your destiny.

You must have faith in the future for which you will now build. The

cost to you may be high in time, money and sacrifice; but you can

make of yourself whatever you may desire if you will but pay the price.
