Mr. C. H. Velte served faithfully and efficiently as Superintendent

of Crete Public Schools from 1919 to 1955. He gave unselfishly of his

time and effort toward improving this community. In recognition of his

many achievements and contributions, as a means of signifying our

respect and affection for him, and with our best wishes for his future

happiness, we, the Senior Class of 1955, proudly dedicate this annual

to Mr. Velte.

We the Junior Class, foresee the future of the Class of 1955. Most of them are of strong mind and body, so we feel what we have set forth here might happen in the future.

MARY JO is still trying hard to alter RONNIE MARCELINO'S plans. But he claims to be interested in farming! !

MARVIN ANDELT and FRANKLIN HALADA are now at General Motors testing cars. They gained all their experience from driving around in Crete at noon.

LEANN ARMSTRONG is still studying on how to become a farmer's wife while waiting for Arnold to come home from the service.

DIANE ARON has succeeded her mother as the secretary to the new Superintendent aT'd finds it very interesting.

CHARLOTTE BELKA still enjoys her evenings at Tabor, Turnpike, Wilber, and Playmor.

TERRY BOUSKA has taken over as the National Television hero, Davy Crockett. ROBERT A BURRUS is now playinp; her 3 instruments simultaneously in Arthur

Godfrey's orchestra on Channel 3. NANCY CASTEEL owns the Casteel Dancing School-specialty-the jitterbug. A

frequent visitor to the school is Ervin Heitman, who's stil\ trying to learn to dance.

NORMAN CHAB has recently won the title of "The Super-Duper Popcorn Popper of the World."

THOMAS CHLEBOUN is now the world's greatest mathematician, having proved that Einstein's theories were false.

GLENDA CLAUSSEN still manages to coax her grandmother into getting a new Buick every year.

JOE DYMACEK is out for sports at Kramer University. He is on the tiddly-wink team. Don't be fooled- they're using man-hole covers.

ARVIN FAIG is having his ups and downs; he is running the elevator in the Empire State Building.

What's this we see? Why it's BILL FARLEY carrying ten bushels of onions. Oh, that's right; he's taken over for Johnny Ray and crying doesn't come naturally.

MELVIN GILES owns the C.B. & S. Railroad. He runs 2 trains a month between Crete, Berks, and Shestak.

RON HAGAMAN has devoted his life to inventing. He has invented a Giant King Size Cigarette which lights itself when you take it from the package.

DELVIN HALADA is head macaroni packer at the Crete Mills. MARY HENNING is now going to college to help Shelly (her boyfriend) study to

become a minister. -RONALD HENNING went to AUstralia and bought a ranch. He is now raising

kangaroos for boxing matches. SHIRlEY HENNING is married to Marblehead and is raising little marbles. RON HOKUF is fulfilling his life-long ambition of becoming a great director in

Hollywood. He directs traffic at Hollywood & Vine. RON HOLROYD is now in bitter rivalry with his former employee Babe Duba;

they've switched from junk cars to junk r.ocket ships. JOANN HORKY is working at Bud's Cleaners to support herself and Lester. BARBARA JURICEK is taking singing lessons from Mrs. Moore and plans to make

a career of it. RUTH KAHLE is now working at Doane College doing typing work to see more

of the college boys. CHARLES KELLER now owns his flying saucer service which runs between Crete

and Tabor Hall. LEON KEMPER is causing the highway commission no end of trouble, wearing

out the oil mat between here and Wilber. LEONA KRAMER can be seen going to dances and seeing out of town boys. NADEAN KRUSE is in the taxi bt,siness hauling around college boys so they can

get a bird's eye view of Crete. DONALD KUNCL is following in his father's footsteps, for he now owns his own

body shop. PATRICIA LANNOM is now working at Nebraska City where she can be closer

to "Cappy." SANDRA LUCHSINGER is baldng doughnut holes at Luchsinger's Bakery. ARNOLD MEINKE still can't do more than 60 words a minute on a typewriter, even

though he practiced and practiced when he was in Crete High. DEAN MilLER was swallowed by an elephant while he was tal<ing its picture.

Pennsylvania University. GENE NEIBUHR is now producing mashed potatoes in the Belgium Congo. DOROTHY NOVOTNY is employed by Penney's at Lincoln while waiting for her

fiancee . They plan to get married as soon as Dorothy saves enough money. GERALD PARKER, a star athlete at Crete High, has gotten a job with the Globe

Trotters. Don't feel too bad, Jerry; you can work up from water boy. FRANKLIN PAVEL has advanced to head jerk at Hojer's soda fountain. DONLYN PIEPHO seems to be having trouble with her job as a secretary. Her

boss is tall and handsome and she can't keep her mind on her shorthand. IRMA POMAJZL is now starring on "My Friend Irma." You can turn it on

F-R-A-N-K-TV. NORMA POMAJZL Is doing professional work in Shorthand and Typing. JANICE REISS is now a top art designer for Dell comic books. She finds it very

interesting drawing frogs. ROBERT RICHARDSON is now playing bass drum with Spike Jones' crazy mixed-

up band! LINDA SACK is now performing as one of the dancing packs for "Old Gold." HERBERT SCHAMP now owns the Ben Franklin store in Pleasant Hill. KATHLEEN SCHMUTTE is now a top ballet dancer in Hollywood. JAMES SLEPICKA is now one step ahead of Liberace by using electric lights in­

stead of candles. LINDA STEINER is now a registered nurse at the St. Elizabeth Hospital where

"Bud" is suffering from Love Sickness. RICHARD STEINER is now the basketball coach for the cannibals in South Africa. JEANN STOLZ now has a full time job just running the pool hall. We hear that

business is prosperous. JIM SULLIVAN still loves to run back to the school once in a while to tease Miss

Darling. SONJA TESSAR still enjoys riding around in a cream-colored Oldsmobile after

work. PATRICIA UNDF.RWOOD is now pantomiming on the Dottie Mack Show. BARBARA VA VERKA and BONNIE SCHW ARTMAN are still trying to pass the

TV test for " Private Secretary." MARY CLAIRE VESELY'S favorite slogan, as she ushers in the "Times" Theatre,

is "Let's stop our talking now." NORMA VETTER has now Invented a new machine with which any car cannot

get stuck, especially on lonely roads. RAYMOND WEILAGE has decided to go to the University of Nebraska because of

a certain girl taking nurse's training. CAROLE WIELAGE settled down and got married. She lives in Lincoln and is

using her Home Ec. experience. DOROTHY WILD is still waiting for Roger, who is ln the Navy. Seems the Navy

just can't get along without him- well, it seems Dorothy can't either. DONOVAN ZAGER has been taking vitamin pills so that he can replace Atlas as

the world's strongest man. LORRAINE ZNAMENACEK is now in the modelling business. She models clay at

Peter Patter's Pottery Plant. JACKIE CINK now enjoys playing her accordion, touring the country with Horace

Heid and his orchestra.
