LONG BEACH POLY FIIGH SCHOOL LONG BEACH opened the Coast League season against a strong Alharnbra squad and managed to squeeze out a close 7-0 victory on the losers' own turf. In the League "titanic" the fighting Jacks smashed their \{ray to a 13-6 win over the San Diego Hillers. The Border Cit5r,'boys, defending champs, invaded Long Beach as favorites, mostly krecause of their outstanding quarterback, Arnbrose Shindler. Playing the game of their lives the locals succeeded in stopping Mr. Shindler, meanwhile amassing 13 points from power plays. Dusky Walter McCowan proved to be the margin of victory in this game with his eighty yard gallop to a score. The boys finished the season in championship style, defeating Pasadena 2U6, Santa Ana 20-0, and Glendale 14-0. Entering the C. I. F. play-offs as Coast League champions, the Rabbits drew a first round bye. After enjoying a well earned rest, Long Beach met the fast Loyol.a High School clan from Los Angeles. After a hard struggle the Bunnies succeeded in taming the Li,ons to the tune of 7-0. This was one of the hardest games of the yeatr. In the semi-finals the locals enterta'iaed a group of lads frorn Cathedral High, Los Angeles, and played a part of the imperfect host by sending their guests horne nursing a 26-7 defeat. Chaffey High of Ontario, in the other semi-final tilt, eked out a close decision over Muir Tech of Pasadena.
