All food is cooked fresh on site, and adheres to all new allergen laws with full documentation. Menus are often bespoke to suit the client’s demands in order to fit in with themes and concepts. Any additional information on food, cooking techniques and ingredients can also be disclosed at any time for clients.



OUR VENUESWE ARE PROUD TO PROVIDE THE ENTIRE CATERING AND STAFFING SOLUTION WITHIN LEADING ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE NORTH EAST, SHOWCASING OUR FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATILITY.We manage all of Sunderland AFC’s matchday and concert hospitality, from a drinks reception in the business lounge to private catering in the executive boxes. We also manage all of the venue’s private functions and corporate events.

We are the sole catering at the National Glass Centre Brasserie and the provider of event catering at the venue, including private and corporate celebrations for 10 to 300 guests.

Also part of 1879’s portfolio is The Beach House, a fun, family-friendly contemporary bistro, just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Roker beach. This stunning venue combines all the best elements of seaside eating, showcasing fantastic locally sourced produce and seafood.

To taste some of the fantastic food provided by 1879, you can visit the National Glass Centre Brasserie and The Beach House, which is open daily for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea and Sunday lunch.
