XPOMET© Convention 2018The Convention for Innovation and

High-Tech in Medicine

March 21–23 2018KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig, Germany

Background

One of the major questions, apart from the economic and political development, is how and where the tons of of new know-how will be shared, especially when technologies such as VR or MR are suddenly relevant to so many, previously separated areas. Specifi cally: How should the physician in a private practice discover a new business model for himself, if he has, for example, hardly any points of contact with the numerous digital opportunities from the quantifi ed self segment?

Interdisciplinary exchange seems to be the answer - but which languagedo we speak? The one of the doctors? Of the developers? Of the decision-makers?

To fi nd a solution for this - to create a platform with a new culture and a new understanding for interdisciplinary exchange - has become the mission of XPOMET©.

Medical advances are increasingly based on interdisciplinary networking.Technologies and brilliant minds that previously had little to do with medicine are suddenly relevant and becoming major game-changers.

Artifi cial Intelligence, Blockchain, Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, 3D Printing or Robotics are just a few examples of the impressive pos-sibilities that unstoppably stream into the healthcare sector. They not only change professions or business models, but entire systems - if you keep pace.

Industry 4.0 has long since entered the healthcare sector and the media is frequently calling what is currently happening in the German-speaking market ‘The race to catch up on Silicon Valley’. Suddenly, tech giants such as Google-mother Alphabet or Apple are seen as the secret healthcare stock winners.

Co-Host XPOMET© Convention

We cordially invite you to become part of our dynamic innovation network!

More than 50 experts and visionaries from the healthcare industry form the advisory board for the 12 segments of XPOMET©, for which more than 100 national and international top speakers as well as approximately 2.000 medical professionals will fi nd their way to Leipzig.

XPOMET© Convention will be held from March 21 to 23, 2018 at the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig. It is the fi rst and only event of its kind - it combines interdisciplinary networking, high-profi le keynotes, progressive projects and discussion impulses as well as innovative and interactive formats to create a three-day tribute to technology, progress and the further development of medicine. The Convention is aimed at all stakeholders in the healthcare sector, especially physicians, decision-makers in medical institutions, the protagonists of medical engineering, modern pharmacy, biotech, care professionals, and also students.

The Convention consists of an Innovation Congress on six stages, constructive think tanks, refreshing discussion formats, the FutureHealth Exhibition - with its by now over 15 showcases, such as the Patient’s Room or the Doctor’s Offi ce of the Future - as well as various side events, the Startup Section and the Festival of Medicine.

The Future Health Exhibition is divided into Future Health Pavilions, where companies can showcase themselves as the foremost innovators in their segment. The focus here is on innovation, ideas and interaction. Mind you, we intend to enable companies, institutes and start-ups to do more than ‘just’ present themselves at the Future Health Exhibition.

‘InterX.0 - A Patient’s Journey’ is an animated art and video installation at the center of the Future Health Exhibition, which will symbolize patient centrality. Subject of the installation is the representation of different interfaces, their connection and the depiction of data fl ow. The aim is to simulate the ideal journey of a patient and their data across the healthcare system.

The installation will further be used as the practical basis for our Think Tank and the following Press Talk, which will focus on how the inter-connectedness of different parties can be successfully implemented in the future. Additionally, the installation as well as the output of the Think Tank will be utilized to potentially create new interfaces in the healthcare system by connecting the participating interdisciplinary companies with each other.

Projekt InterX.0 – A Patient’s Journey

Our hackathon ‘Not another start-up pitch’ as well as a chill-out area, food trucks, elements of music and art, games and many other ideas of the XPOMET© creative team will provide variation and lots of fun.

Supporting companies are:

Startup Section

Since start-ups in the world of medical innovation are significantly involved in the rapid development of the entire medical field, a special platform has been created for them at the XPOMET© Convention.

In addition to the highly discounted prices, a very diverse range of features has been designed for participating start-ups: Supplementary to their booth and the many features incorporated, young companies can book a slot at the Vision Market Stage. If the price should be a problem, it is possible to be selected as a presenter for the stage by the XPOMET©-Committee.Several workshops and talks on various relevant topics will be held by selected experts and all start-ups can participate, regardless of whether they are exhibitors or not. Next to the general matchmaking of the convention we also organize relaxed meets & greets with investors exclusively for start-ups.

Integrating Digital Health Start-ups into the Primary Healthcare Market Faster and Safer

Does the healthcare world need another start-up pitch? The XPOMET© team has asked itself this question in the last weeks and without further ado changed the start-up pitch to a mini-hackathon. Presented and realized by Health Innovation Port by PHILIPS, you can expect an exciting and trendsetting task on the second day of the convention.More information will follow soon online at www.xpomet.com and www.healthinnovationport.de

We also award a prize to the most innovative projects among the visionary projects still in their infancy that are presented on our Sandbox Stage. Here, too, a jury of experts will select the winner and a runner-up, who will both receive a coaching from startmeupnow! worth 1.000€. Projects can be submitted to [email protected] by January 12, 2018.

Not another Start-up Pitch

… and for our ‘little ones’ ..

XPOMET© Network and Festival

MatchmakingThe XPOMET© is a platform for extensive networking and inter-action. Our matchmaking platform should above all enable potential partners, who, until now, had no overlaps, to get to talk at the meetings on site. Approximately two months before the event, we will activate our matchmaking software for all participants.

Festival of MedicineIn order to create a personal experience and to emphasize our fascina-tion of medical innovation, the convention will be supplemented with art and musical elements, food trucks and numerous get-together events - this way, we are not just hosting another event for the medicine of the future, but a dedicated festival. Due to various side-events and activities, the relaxed surroundings of the convention are perfect for networking. Whether it’s at the XPOMET© Impulse-Kick-Off, the daily

Summary-Session, the XMC Night, the Award Ceremonies of the Start-up Award and the NextGen Award for Students and post-graduates, and especially at the #SuperScience Party. Celebrate the incredible future of medicine in a colorful and surreal clash of circus, bygone eras and what is still ahead of us.

Special thanks are due to:
