Hard Hat Collection: This weekend, there will be a second collection for the renovation cost. We appreciate your prayerful consideration and support of this effort.

Stewardship Reflection: I have coached all three of my children in soccer at some time in their lives. I loved teaching them and their teammates the importance of functioning as one unit. If we were not all moving together toward victory, we would all find ourselves together in defeat. We used to go through one drill I called the "human foosball." We would scrimmage with players in lines like on a foosball table. If you ever got too far behind or too far ahead of those in your line, play would stop, and the ball would go to the other team. The goal was to help build an awareness of where your teammates were on the pitch and to teach the lesson that no one player is a team onto themselves. As disciples and stewards, we sometimes find ourselves far behind or maybe even too far ahead. As a consequence, our actions either hinder the ability of the Body of Christ to evangelize and pass on the faith to a new generation or present the Church as an entity that sees itself as judgmental or too holy to be in the world. We are called to community, and in that community, we must be aware of our brothers and sisters in the faith. At times, we need to help them grow in their faith. Other times, we need to slow down and realize that we cannot change the world on our own. We all have unique gifts we are called to share, and we can only bear true witness to the power of the Body of Christ when we are all moving together and making each other strong. -Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS

Collection for the Church in Latin America: On the weekend of June 16-17, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Latin America. Your support to the collection provides lay leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, as well as other programs to help share our faith with those who long to hear the Good News of Christ. Food and Drink: Please refrain from bringing food and drinks into the Church. In order to keep our church clean, beautiful, and inviting, please refrain from bringing food or drinks into the Church. Special “Thank you”: We greatly appreciated everyone that helped with the move from the gym to the Church this past weekend.

Thank You: St. Michael Parish has been richly blessed to have Bruce Hoffsommer as its Music Choir Director for the past 21 years. During the course of his service, the church has experienced significant physical and spiritual growth. However, after decades of faithful service to St. Michael’s, Bruce will be retiring in July 2018. We wish him well as he moves into this next phase of his life. We are so grateful for all he has accomplished for our Parish.

Bruce’s Retirement Celebration! Bruce Hoffsommer will be retiring at the beginning of July, after serving as our Music Director for the past 21years. On Sunday, July 1st, we will celebrate Bruce’s contributions to our church and his faithful ministry among us with a lunch will be catered in the Gym right after the 10 a.m. Mass. If you would like to bring appetizers or dessert you are welcome to. Please plan to attend as we send Bruce off into retirement with a great big “Thank You!”

New Choir Director: T.C. Long has been hired as St. Michaels Choir director. Officially, he will assume his duties as of July 7,2018. New members are welcome for more information contact T.C. Long!

St. Michael’s Festival: St. Michael’s Day Feast Festival & 2nd Annual 5K Cross Country Run/Walk is on Saturday, September 29, 2018. The 5k starts at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning, and Festival will start at 5:00 p.m. that evening. More details to come in the near future

Volunteers Needed for The St. Michael’s Festival: We are in need of volunteers to help us out at the St. Michael Festival.  We invite you and your families to participate by helping us out at the festival while also enjoying the atmosphere of fun and fellowship with the entire parish community.   Thank you in advance for your time, talent & treasure Please contact the Parish Office to Volunteer!

Mass Intentions: Consider having a Mass said for a birthday, graduation, anniversary, special event, or memorial for someone special. Please come to the parish office if you would like to schedule a Mass. The Diocese stipulates that a standard stipend for a Mass Intention is $10.00.

"IMPORTANT CHANGES to PRE Registration This Year": PRE Registration for the 2018-2019 School Year has begun and end July 15th. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JULY 15TH! Registration is available in the church office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and in the office building after Masses on the following Sundays ONLY: June 3rd, June 24th, July 15th. Also by appointment with Mayra Macriano at 479-629-2528. If you are unable to come at any of these times, you may print a registration form off of the PRE page of the St. Michael website, fill it out and then email it to religioused@stmichaelvanburen.com or fax it to 479-471-1219. Registration cost is $25 for 1 child, $50 for 2 children, $60 total for 3 or more children in the same family. You may pay your registration fee online using the link provided on the website or using cash or check in person. Bring or email a copy of each child's birth certificate and baptismal certificate.

PRE Teachers:  We are currently needing PRE teachers for the 2018-2019 school year.  Please pray to the Holy Spirit for these positions to be filled.  If you feel called to teach, please call Mayra at the parish office.

VBS 2018 Set Sail with The Holy Trinity Featuring Saint Patrick: Mark your calendar for this year's Vacation Bible School, June 18-22, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All are invited to be a part of this fantastic spiritual event. Parents are encouraged to register their children for FIVE (5) FUN-FILLED DAYS of exciting lessons, cool crafts, fun games, upbeat music, creative skits, hands-on activities and delicious snacks. Youth Fundraising:  Fundraising Changes:  Thank you so much for supporting all of our fundraising endeavors this year!  You have been incredibly generous.  Our youth who are attending the Steubenville Conference this summer are still working hard to fund their trip.  Rather than selling before Masses, each person who is attending will be selling raffle tickets and t-shirts individually.  If you would like to purchase either, they would love to sell them to you! You can choose whom you wish to purchase from the list on the church website under the

tabs "Religious Education/ PRE."

CAR WASHES: We will also be having two more car washes for donations on Sunday, June 24th from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and Sunday, July 8th from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.  Please invite your friends!
