17th May 2018
Dear Parents, As previously mentioned in our newsletter, you are to arrange transport for your child/ren for both Gala Days. Our Gala Days will be held in Allora on Friday 18th and Friday 25th May. A staff member will be at Allora State School supervising our students from 8am on both of these days. We would like all students to be at Allora State School by 8:45am at the latest, so they have the opportunity to listen to the rules and all other relevant information. Please be aware that your child may bring home part of a uniform to be washed and ready for next Friday. All students are required to bring a healthy lunch and plenty of water. Students are permitted to bring money for the canteen. Please make sure your child has the correct clothing and equipment as detailed below; NETBALL– Full sports uniform. Netball visor provided. SOCCER– Full sports uniform. No tags or soccer boots. Shin pads are required. If your child does not have their own shin pads, we will provide them. Rugby League- Wattles shor ts or school spor ts shor ts, jersey provided, socks provided, football and mouthguard required. Headgear recommended. Under 8’s Day Our Under 8’s day will be held on the 25th May. Please return the meal deal if you haven’t already done so. Empire Theatre Excursion Empire excursion permission forms were sent home this week. Thanks to those who have returned them. Special thanks to Gale Ansett, a previous parent of ours, who kindly donated some weighted blankets for our students this week. Weighted blankets use a technique known as deep pressure stimulation that has been used for centuries to treat disorders such as insomnia, stress, ADHD, autism and anxiety. Some of our students respond very well to the use of them.
Thanks also to Tina Hilton for coordinating the catering efforts for the Mothers Day high tea last Friday. We are very grateful for the support we received with the cooking and clean up efforts. Thanks for your support.
Peace and Best Wishes,
Brendan
