At the time, Peña Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), was the candidate to beat, leading both Vázquez, of the incumbent National Action Party (PAN), and López Obrador, of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), by more than double digits in opinion polls. Of the three, López Obrador was considered the long shot, largely written off in Mexico’s

“Quiero conectar con personas; espero romper barreras.” Compartió Doja también conocido como Benny Dosier, un rapero nacido en Stockton, CA que ahora vive en la bahía.

Doja nació en 1992, en el hospital San Joaquín; fue a escuelas locas de Stockton hasta que, “mama decidió mudarse a la bahía”. El término la preparatoria en la bahía pero, “esta es mi casa” el agrego que visita Stockton regularmente. “Me siento cómodo aquí, me trae muchas memorias de cuando crecí y de quien soy”.

Por los últimos 5 años, Doja a rapeado, recientemente finalizo su primer álbum que está proyectado estará disponible a la venta “en los siguientes dos meses”. Mientras que su música anticipa tener influencias de Mortal Technique, Eminem, Bizzi Bone y Tupac. El transcendió a hacer esa música por su propio gusto, “Yo empecé a hacer música por mi cuenta,” Doja explico que su papa lo introdujo a la música de rap cuando el tenia de 6 a 7 años.

Ahora, Doja disfruta escribir poesías que el utiliza como liricas en su música, “hay un elemento de rebelión juventud y soledad”. El usa la música para expresar sus desafíos y las complejidades de la vida.

“Desconectado,” es el título de su álbum cual va a estar disponible al público, o “si la gente quiere escuchar mi música, se las regalo gratis” explica que estarán disponible s en internet. Mientras a él le gustan las canciones de su álbum, sus tres favoritas son “Aimless, Inevitable y Memoir” Actualmente las canciones “No Hats y 85 Bears” están en YouTube bajo el “Doja e Ilko.”

Su casa de música es una disquera independiente que proyecta que el disco saldrá al mercado el siguiente mes y el

Doja was born 1992, at San Joaquin General Hospital and attended local schools in Stockton

until, “my mom decided to move to the bay area.” He finished high school in the bay;

however, “this is a home to me,” he added that he visits Stockton on a regular basis, “I feel

comfortable here [Stockton], the memories of growing-up here will always be part of who I am.”

For the past 5 years, Doja has been rapping, he recently finalized his first album which

is projected to be release “in the up-coming two months.” While his music

is anticipated to have a style that defines Doja; his influence have been

Inmortal Technique, Eminem, Bizzy Bone, and the late Tupac. He explained how he transcended from listening to making music as, “I went about my own

business on doing it [music],” Doja explained that his dad got him into listening rap when he was as

young as 6 to 7 years of age.Today, Doja enjoys writing poetry which he uses as

lyrics, “there is an element of teen rebellion and solitude.” He uses music as a way to vent the challenges of his teens

and the complexities of life. “Disconnected,” is the title of his

album which will be available on hard copy, or “if people want to listen to my music; I love to give it out for free,” his music will be available online to

download free. While he enjoys the songs that will reach his local fan base the three, “I had the

most fun with were Aimless, Inevitable and Memoir.” Currently the songs “No Hats

and 85 Bears” are available on YouTube as Doja & Ilko.

His independent label projects that as soon as the album

hits the market he will go out on a local California

tour, “hitting local

venues.”

López Obrador was the old man, the sore loser – he lost the presidential election by a controversially slim margin in 2006 – and the candidate with a head full of socialist ideas that had long ago been discredited.But today, with only three weeks of campaigning to go before Mexicans elect a new president, López Obrador – known in Mexico by his initials, AMLO – has moved into a statistical tie for first place with Peña Nieto.The political resurrection of AMLO has stunned observers, with the prospect of a leftist government being elected in Mexico now a real possibility.The sudden ascendance of AMLO is the unintended consequence of a grassroots and mostly student-led protest and social media campaign that sprung up more than two weeks ago as a reaction to and condemnation of Mexico’s “old media” – the major television stations like Televisa and newspapers that have long represented Mexico’s elite – and their perceived role in pandering to the interests of the PRI.After being booed off the stage by students at a university appearance two weeks ago, Peña Nieto did little to help his case when he belittled the uproar in the media, proclaiming it to be the product of “131 malcontent” students. That comment resulted in spontaneous street protests in Mexico City that utilized the slogan, “Yo Soy #132” (I Am #132), a catch phrase that quickly went viral on YouTube, Twitter and FaceBook.

“It was about time that Mexico woke up, that it stopped watching television,” Leonardo Mata, a student at Mexico City’s Metropolitan Autonomous University who participated in a rally that grew to almost 45,000 participants on May 24, told CNN Mexico.The protester’s allegations of favorable coverage by the largest television network, Televisa, on behalf of the PRI’s Peña Nieto, were confirmed on June 7 when The Guardian published a budget and schedule of payments by the PRI to Televisa totaling more than $22 million USD.The revelations created a major crisis for Peña Nieto and the PRI, with only three weeks left before Mexicans head to the polls.With The Guardian report, the Yo Soy #132 student movement was vindicated, and there is even some speculation that Peña Nieto may have to withdraw from the election. Rallies and demonstrations are being planned for this weekend and next week to force Peña Nieto to withdraw.The student uprising, which has been called Mexico’s version of the “Arab Spring,” is actually something altogether different: Where the Middle East demonstrations sought to overthrow unpopular regimes from power, in Mexico they are designed to prevent a political

party – the PRI – from re-gaining power.That’s quite a difference. Yet the important role of social media in each movement is undeniable.Students in Mexico took to social media to spread a simple message using Enrique Peña Nieto’s initials: “Este Pendejo No,” meaning “Not This Asshole.” In other words, any other asshole would do.It was just the opening that AMLO needed. While Peña Nieto and the PRI have been paralyzed by the student uprising – Nieto recently withdrew from the third presidential debate scheduled for June 19 -- AMLO’s campaign has seized on the opportunity.AMLO’s strategy has been two-fold. First, he proposed the creation of a “República Amorosa,” or “Loving Republic,” that would restore the moral values of Mexican society to solve the nation’s ills. Presented as “AMLOVE,” the idea was to create a national conversation among business, religious leaders, and academics to find sustainable solutions to Mexico’s problems based on

humanistic ideals. Second, AMLO has focused his relentless criticism on the “state of insecurity” and “corruption” in Mexico, as a consequence of the War on Drugs. Playing to Mexican’s fatigue over the daily body count splattered on the front pages of newspapers and television news reports, AMLO has found tremendous resonance among a public that is exhausted by the emotional stress of the War on Drugs. Indeed, Mexico, for the first time, is confronting the reality of a large number of people showing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, known as TEPT in Spanish. Since 2008, studies have documented TEPT in Mexican children as young as 8 years of age. In Spain, the largest newspaper, El País, has hai led “the resurrection” of AMLO, and the most recent opinion polls by the Mexican newspaper Reforma put Peña Nieto at 38 percent, with AMLO at 34 percent, within the margin of error. This represents a surge of 10 percentage points in less than two weeks after the Yo

Soy #132 student movements began.A MLO’s r ise has rat t led Mexico’s business class, which fears he would follow through on his promises – or threats – of imposing a Venezuela-style economic program of nationalization and social engineering. AMLO has had to reassure the public he is not intent on pursuing a Hugo Chavez-style government in Mexico if elected.None of this has been reassuring, and the students who are part of the Yo Soy #132 movement are not sure of what to make of the fact that their protests against the PRI’s Peña Nieto are paving the way for what has become the most highly-contested presidential election in a generation. As recently as April, Mexicans were resigning themselves to the PRI’s return to power, but now all bets are off.Mexican students may get their wish – Not This Asshole (Peña Nieto) -- after all, but it’s still not clear how Mexico will fare should AMLO ride the coattails of their uprising to the presidency.

La campaña mas reñida de fue el puesto de Alcalde. Ann Johnston, Alcalde de La Ciudad de Stockton logro un 41.58 porciento y el segundo lugar fue el ex presidente del Distrito Unificado Escolar de Stockton Anthony Silva with 20.65%. El puesto de Alcalde tiene 7 candidatos y el ex al-calde Jimmie Rishwain logro 14.96% y el ex concejal Ralph Lee White logro 11.54%.

En el 4º Distrito, la titular Diane Lowery fue desafiada por dos Latinos rivalizando para servir en la Ciudad — el Abogado Moisés Zapien y la Intructora de Baile Theresa Velazquez, Ph.D. Lowery gano con 47.83% de los votos Moisés Zapien la siguió con 35.71%; Teresa Velazuez lo-gro 15.93%. Lowery e Zapien continuaran a la elección general.

The most contested race in the city was the Mayor’s Race. The Mayor’s seat had 7 candidates were for-mer Stockton Mayor Jimmie Rishwain reached a 14.96% and Former Stockton Coun-cilmember Ralph Lee White reached 11.54%.

The 4th District, incum-bent Diane Lowery was chal-lenged by the only two Lati-nos vying to serve in the City — Attorney Moses Zapien and Dance Instructor There-sa Velazquez, Ph.D. Lowery lead 47.83% of the votes fol-lowed by Zapien who reached a 35.71%; Theresa Velazquez reached 15.93%. On Friday, June 8th, Velazquez en-dorsed Moses Zapien.

In the 2nd District, Vice-Mayor, Kathy Miller received a strong 61.65% of the votes and her opponent Randy Hatch reached 37.83%.

In the past two years, I was invited several times to join the Board of Directors of [not-for-profit organization] Comision Honorifica Mexicana (CHM) by its members Virginia Espinosa, Luis Gonzales, Javier Gardea, Maria Ramos, Juan Castellon, Findencio Lamas. In August 2010 I accepted and I was nominated as vice-president. This action was submitted for a unanimous vote was the outcome; the board acted with a democratic action. That’s how a series of artistic-cultural and social activities started. By February 7, 2011 I was nominated for the Presidency of CHM. Virginia Espinosa made the motion y Mr. Luis Gonzales second it. Its was presented for a vote with a unanimous vote of each of the board members. The board being Virginia Espinosa, Luis Gonzales, Javier Serrano, Maria Ramos, Francies Hernandes, Jesus Alvarado, Jose Valencia y Fidencio Lamas. This nomination as a graduated Professor of Mexico and following my work in grammar schools, middle school and being specialized in artistic education and being a director at two cultural agencies, cultural promoter of SEP-Culture and Iste-Culture and graduate of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of the Arts) in Folkloric Dance and folklore investigations.This helped us to organize social and cultural artistics projects where Mexicans could continue their tradition and heritage at the CHM; which was organized and founded to support recent arriving Mexicans. This was established by the Mexican Government as this 1925 vision was to form Honorific Mexican Commissions along the U.S. Stockton’s was established in 1938 thanks to the leadership of several people who had a great intention and the Stockton’s community its surroundings collaborating and surrounding residents, participating with raffles, dances and other activities to fundraise for the construccion of the facility which continues to exist today. About time, we say thanks to everyone con contributed with their gratitude to support this noble cause. But this does not give any right to any decendent of those good leaders to interrupt the legal form and to arbitrary the art projects, dance, music, and zumba as Virginia Espinoza has done. We make this historical highlight to inform the community of what has happened and for them to be judges of the case. As time is moving Virginia Espinosa starts giving me orders so that I can work her agenda and obviously I never accepted her orders as the board of directors votes as measures move forward favoring of CHM. The persons being negative towards me started by forming a second board; a lack of respect toward the board in numerous incidents towards teachers and students. This is not right, as the membership in the board are persons of honor and with great community experience. Plus, she had the courage to threaten me by firing everyone from CHM to sell the building. Being before so many irregularities as well as lack of respect y constant violations of the bylaws we decided to have a meeting to remove her from her duties; one being the vice-president and the other as legal representative of CHM. As we had the courtesy and honesty we informed her of the meeting we hoped that she would react to amend her direction. In fact we hope she would have explained; but she did not, she formed a new board and she headed to the Secretary of State without any warning, notification or any proper assembly. She did every in an arbitrary way and with negative actions.Not comfortable she extracted an $8,000 budget from the bank account; she changed the door knobs, locks and building chains at CHM. She never took into consideration what we did year after year to comply with the Secretary of State; to report the official requirements of the board which were done March 2012.Another important fact is in the bylaws which mandate that the board of directors should be elected in June 2012. This agreement is in an ACT, which was not achieved.Following everything that has been written we invite the municipal, State and Federal authorities and every stake holder to take time to make the needed investigations and we hope that justice is done as in numerous time Virginia Espinosa has done the same mistake.

Durante 2 años en repetidas ocasiones fui invitado por la mesa directiva de la Comisión

Honorifica Mexicana (CHM) integrada por Virginia Espinosa, Luis González, Javier

Gardea, María Ramos, Juan Castellón, Fidencio Lamas. En Agosto del 2010 acepte

dicha y fue para nominarme como vice-presidente. Se sometió a votación y fue para

nominarme con un resultado unánime; acción democráticamente es como actuó la mesa directiva. Iniciando así una serie de actividades artístico-culturales y sociales.

Posteriormente el 7 de febrero del 2011 se me nomina para Presidente de CHM. Haciendo la moción Virginia Espinosa y secundándola

el Sr. Luis González. Sometiéndola a votación resultando unánime con los votos

de cada uno de los miembros de la mesa directiva integrada por Virginia Espinosa,

Luis González, Javier Serrano, María Ramos, Francés Hernández, Jesús Alvarado, José

Valencia y Fidencio Lamas. Esta nominación por mi experiencia como profesor titulado

en México y haber trabajado en la educación primaria y secundaria y en la especialidad de educación artística así como director de 2 casas de la cultura, promotor cultural de

sep-cultura e Iste-cultura y egresado del instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes en Talleres

de Danza Folklórica e Investigación del folklore.

Esto nos ayudo a organizar proyectos artísticos culturales y sociales donde los Mexicanos continuarían sus costumbres

y tradiciones dentro de la CHM; la cual fue organizada y fundada para atender a

los Mexicanos recién llegados de Mexico. Este hecho se debe al Gobierno Mexicano

cuya iniciativa fue en 1925 la de formar Comesiones Honorificas Mexicanas en

todo EEUU. Llegándose a formar aquí en Stockton, CA en 1938 gracias a iniciativa de varias personas de buena intención así

como con la colaboración de los habitantes de Stockton y sus alrededores, participando

en rifas, bailes y varias actividades para la construcción del edificio que existe hasta nuestros días. En hora buena, las gracias

a todos los que con su granito de arena contribuyeron a tan noble causa.

Pero esto no le da derecho a ningún descendiente de esos buenos lideres a

interrumpir en forma ilegal y arbitraria los proyectos de artes plásticas, danza, música,

y zumba como lo hizo Virginia Espinosa. Hacemos esta reseña histórica para que la comunidad sepa los hechos y juzgue por si

solos. A medida que va pasando el tiempo Virginia

Espinosa comienza a darme ordenes para que trabajara bajo la agenda de ella y

lógicamente que nunca acepte tales ordenes puesto que la mesa directiva es la que vota

por cualquier medida o iniciativa en bien de la CHM. Las personas que ahí colaboran ante la negativa mia empezó a amenazar

con hacer otra mesa directiva. Falta de respeto a la mesa directiva en repetidas

veces y a maestros como a algunos alumnos. Esto no es justo, puesto que los miembros

de la mesa son gente honorable con gran experiencia en la comunidad. Además,

ella tuvo el atrevimiento de amenazar con correr a todas las personas de la CHM para

vender el edificio. Ante tanta ofensas e irregularidades así como faltas de respeto

y constantes violaciones a los estatutos decidimos hacer una junta para removerla

de sus cargos; uno como vice presidenta y el otro como representante legal de la

CHM. Teniendo nosotros la atención y la honestidad de avisarle de dicha reunión y

haber si asi reaccionaba y enmendaba el camino correcto. Incluso nos hubiera dado

una explicación; pero no, ella formo una nueva mesa directiva y se fue a la Secretaria

de Estado sin dar previo aviso, consulta alguna o asamblea realizada. Todo lo hizo en

forma arbitraria y negativa. No conforme con ello extrajo el dinero de la cuenta del banco $8,000 dólares, así como

cambiar chapas, candados y cadenas del edificio de la CHM. En ningún momento ella

tomo en cuenta lo que hicimos nosotros que año con año la secretaria del Estado requiere

la actualización de los oficiales y nosotros hicimos tal requerimiento en el mes de

Marzo del 2012. Mas otro hecho impórtate es lo que dicen los estatutos y acuerdos de la mesa directiva de

hacer elecciones en Junio del 2012. En un acta se encuentra este acuerdo, lo cual no se

llego a concretar.

Por todo lo anteriormente escrito invitamos a las autoridades municipales estatales y

federales ya quien corresponda se hagan las investigaciones necesarias y pertinentes y

haga justicia puesto que en repetidas veces Virginia Espinosa ha incurrido en el mismo

error.

At San Joaquin County three out of the five Supervi-sor seats were up in the elec-tion; one open seat and two seats for re-election.

District 1, Carlos Villapudua was reelected with 66.79% to defeated businessman Mark Stebbins who reached 32.55% . “My goals are not done yet,” explained Villapudua as he appreciated the community’s support. “I’m a board mem-ber at San Joaquin General Hospital, I will continue to work hard to ensure that the hospital keeps moving ahead.” Villapudua believes that is important to stimulate the county’s economy, he also serves on the aviation board.

Steve Bestolarides was elected in 2008 to represent the 3rd District; he was up for re-election; however, there was no challenger on this race.

District 5 was the most contested seat in the County. City of Tracy’s Councilmem-ber Bob Elliot reached the highest percentage of voters with 45.47% followed by pro-fessor Rhodesia R. Ransom’s 33.42% and Businessman Tom Benigno with 20.75%. Bob Elliot and Rhodesia R. Ransom will challenge each other in the general election.
