This letter responds to the landscape and visual amenity aspects outlined in Bird in Hand Winery’s submission in response to Terramin’s Mining Lease Application, dated 27 September 2019. Specifically, it relates to the accuracy of the photomontage views prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen for the Bird in Hand Winery.

1.0 PHOTOMONTAGES PREPARED BY OXIGENPhotomontages for the proposed mine were prepared by Oxigen in the following way:

On site:a Photographs were taken from locations where the proposed mine may be seen from

publically and privately accessible viewpoints using a Nikon digital SLR camera.b Note: Viewpoint B was prepared using a photograph taken by the Bird in Hand Winery.

Within the office:a Each photograph was placed into Photoshop, a software package allowing the

photomontages to be prepared. b An electronic image was generated from a 3D model of the proposed mine. The location

of the image generated from the 3D model matched the location of the photograph. The 3D model is based on contour data of the site locality sourced from Data SA and the proposed site layout plan prepared by Tonkin Engineering - Refer Appendices.

c The 3D images were superimposed onto each photograph to provide an accurate representation of the proposed mine from each viewpoint.

2.0 VIEWPOINTSThe following section includes comparative photomontage views prepared by Oxigen, on behalf of Terramin, and Grieve Gillett Andersen, on behalf of the Bird in Hand Winery. As illustrated and described below, the views prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen do not accurately represent the visual bulk and scale of the proposed mine operations, exaggerating the height and visual prominence of new structures when viewed from the Bird in Hand winery, and under-stating the visual screening effect of existing vegetation, mounding and new planting.

2.1 VIEWPOINT AViewpoint A is taken from the Bird in Hand Winery in the vicinity of the Cellar Door looking east towards the proposed mine site. This viewpoint is approximately 545m from the proposed Run of Mine (Rom) Silo. In the photograph, the top portion of the proposed Rom Silo is visible above the tree canopy. The remaining mine operations are generally screened from view by an existing row of native trees, proposed new shrub planting along the western boundary with the Bird in Hand Winery and a proposed planted earth bund located adjacent to the western boundary of the mine site.

Vegetation — Existing trees along the western boundary with the Bird in Hand Winery are to be retained. Additional under-planting of native shrubs (to approximately 3m high) is proposed in amongst the existing trees to further screen the mine site when viewed from the Bird in Hand Winery - Refer attached Bird in Hand Gold Project Strategic Visual Amenity Plan (BIHGP SVAP) prepared by Oxigen.

— The full extent of the proposed additional vegetation is not included in the photomontage prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen.

Planted Earth Bund — A planted earth bund mound (to approximately 6.0m high) is proposed adjacent to the Terramin - Bird in Hand Winery boundary to minimise views to the mine operations when viewed from the Bird in Hand Winery. Upper level, midstory and understory planting is proposed to be planted on the earth bund - Refer attached BIHGP SVAP prepared by Oxigen.

— The photomontage prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen does not appear to accurately reflect the extent of the proposed planting along the earth bund visible at the base of Rom Silo and at breaks in the existing tree line along the western boundary with the Bird in Hand Winery.

Rom Silo — Existing trees adjacent to the Terramin - Bird in Hand Winery boundary are proposed to be under-planted with midstory and understory plants to thicken the screening of the lower portion of the Rom Silo. This proposed vegetation is not included in the photomontage prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen.

— Light muted colours are proposed for the Rom Silo to minimise the visual impact on the skyline - Refer attached BIHGP SVAP prepared by Oxigen.

— The stark white colour depicted on the Grieve Gillett Andersen photomontage is inaccurate.

2.2 VIEWPOINT BViewpoint B is taken from the roof of The Gallery Restaurant at the Bird in Hand Winery. This viewpoint is approximately 545m from the proposed Rom Silo and depicts the current view of the mine site for someone standing on a proposed roof deck above The Gallery Restaurant. The proposed roof deck above The Gallery Restaurant was not know to Terramin at the time of the Mining Lease Application. From this viewpoint, portions of the mine operations are visible above the existing tree canopy.

Visual Bulk — The height and consequently visual prominence of the proposed operations facilities, including the Mullock Landform, Rom Silo, Water Treatment Plant and Workshop Building are significantly exaggerated in the photomontage prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen. This conclusion is arrived at by comparing the known heights of two trees located on the Terramin site to the height of the proposed Rom Silo - Refer Figures 09 and 10.

a The Rom Silo and existing trees are a similar distance from the viewer - Refer Figure 10.b The ground level of the existing trees is AHD 419.00. The height of the existing trees is

measured at 20.0m. The top level of the trees is therefore approximately AHD 439.00 - Refer Figure 09 and Tonkin Engineering site plan in Appendices.

c The Rom Silo has an FFL of 400.00 and is 24.0m in height (refer Appendices for Tonkin Engineering site plan). The top of the Rom Silo is therefore AHD 424.00.

d The Grieve Gillett Andersen photomontage illustrates the proposed Rom Silo higher than the existing trees. This is not an accurate representation of the proposal.

Vegetation — New planting comprising upper level, midstory and understory species is proposed for the earth bund adjacent to the Terramin - Bird in Hand Winery boundary - Refer attached BIHGP SVAP prepared by Oxigen.

— This proposed vegetation will further act to reduce the visual impact of the mine operations when viewed from the Bird in Hand Winery.

— The extent of vegetation is not accurately represented in the photomontage prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen.

Earth Bund — The bulk and height of the proposed earth bund along the western boundary is exaggerated and the extent of proposed planting is not accurately represented in the photomontage view prepared by Grieve Gillett Andersen.
