CONGRATULATIONS The annual Waitomo District Sports Awards were held 25 November at the Waitomo Cultural and Arts Centre in Te Kuiti and it was packed full of amazing sports people. The highlight for me was hearing Olympian Eric Murray speak. I had an amazing surprise to win the Junior Sportsperson of the Year award. Stormy and “Foxy” A lovely winner, totally surprised, and a very worthy recipient. Dede Downs Sport Waikato Coordinator for Waitomo District

Dear parents, caregivers and friends of school.
Well here we are—the end of another successful year. I would like to thank all of you for
your support and consideration you gave to me and my family as I recovered from my

here amongst such talented staff, students and supportive community.
I am very excited about 2014 and what lies ahead. The National Standard results have
met our targets this year. Well done to our hardworking staff and to the students who
were determined to improve. NCEA results are looking good so far but we have to wait
for external results before publishing percentages and passes.
I wish you all a safe and happy holiday.
After much consultation and research I can now publish our mission, vision and values

AFS HOSTING An AFS student gives you the chance to experience a new culture in your own home. It's a fantastic opportunity. You'll be introducing someone to kiwi life, and you'll expand your own horizons too. This happened to our family in 2011 and 2013 with students from Brazil and Finland becoming part of our family, and our daughter Hannah going to Belgium in 2012. If this sounds like an opportunity you would like to look into or experience, there are 60 students looking for a kiwi family. If you would like to know more or could help with hosting, please contact Bryce Stilborn 877 8451. WANTED Aria Toy Library (Moa Street, Piopio) is undertaking a major upgrade. We need your well-loved toys. Toys will be sorted for library hireage or for selling on, as fundraising towards our building project. Toy donations can be dropped off at the library any Thursday morning 9.30am -11.30am during term 4 (have a clear out before Christmas) or on 16 January 9.30am -11.30am (make space post Christmas)! Alternatively, contact Lisa on 877 8186.
