Newsletter #169 - Nov. 1, 1992

I Peter 2:24 Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.

Does being in Christ make you perfect? No, of course not. As you

live in this world, what needs healing in your life? Your temper? The way you eat? The object is to teach you patience as you grow spiritually.

I Peter 2:25 For Ye were as sheep going astray, but arfl now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

The word Bishop means: "Overseer." He is the overseer of your soul, not body. He is the Shepherd Bishop. What does Shepherd mean? He's over the flock. Bishop means: He is the "overseer" of the souls of those in the flock. You are responsible for your body.

John 10: 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by t/'te door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some othf;u' way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Christ is the door. If you don't go in through Him, you're a thief and a robber attempting to lead the Lord's sheep astray.

John 10:2-3 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. i!. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he called his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

Does He drive them out? Don't expect Christ to ever drive you out. He will lead you. He will never drive you. You must follow, because He leads.

John 10:4 -5 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. §..And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voice of strangers.

Do you know His voice? Do you know through His word when His word speaks to you? Christ's elect will not follow a stranger. Who is that stranger? Satan, of course. The false christ, or any of his evil spirits that might lurk, trying to throw a rock in the path of your wonderful life. No one can mislead you if you're one of His sheep. If you study His word, You are going to recognize His call and you have no fear of that. That's His promise.

John 1Q:6-9 (This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which He spake unto them.) !. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. ! All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers:

Page 2: #169 bishop of your soul

but the sheep did not hear them. !.I am the door: by Me If any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Christ is the door of the sheep. Meaning; He is the door through which you must enter or you're not saved. They went in some other way, but they can not deceive God's people. Man can come into the house of God, or he can go out in the world where it is really dangerous and find pasture. With Christ in you, you will find food everywhere, real spiritual food.

John 1Q:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have It more abundantly.

God has chosen you whereby you have that unction that if someone says something negative to you that it doesn't buffet you, because you understand. They hurt, because they do not understand.

John 10:11-12 I am the good Shepherd: the good Shep- . herd giveth HIs life for thfl sheep. !! But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattered the sheep.

There are many ministers over God's flocks that are hirelings. When the very thief, robber, destroyer himself comes; which is to say Satan, they will not only desert their flocks for him but, will lead as many of the flock as possible to him.

John 1Q;13-16 The hireling fleeth, because he Is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. .!!. I am the good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine. !l As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheflp. !! And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must brIng, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd.

So what if you are buffeted a little bit to bring someone eternal life. What a bargain! Many times that's what is involved when someone's hurting.

Sometimes God blesses us with a surplus of fruits; as the rich man in the following parable who was basically giving his body credit for his wealth, (greed); rather than giving credit to God (faith.)

Luke 12: 19 And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.'

Don't ever do that with your spiritual life, my friends, because your capabilities have not been extended to their fullest yet.

Luke 12:20=22 But God said unto him, "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?' U So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.' !! And He said unto His diSCiples, 'Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

That's faith! Don't worry about it. Use common sense. Prepare for yourself by understanding His calling,

His food, and His raiment.

Luke 12:23-2.4 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. ~ Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Do you know what the raven does? The raven obeys God. It's just nature with them that their going to do exactly what God has put in the mind of the raven to do.

Luke 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his statur, one cubit? ~If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

Which one of you could add one second to his or her life by worrying? It works the other way. Some people borrow things to worry about. If you can't do the least little thing without worrying about it, what are you going to do about the heavy things?

Luk! 12;27-28 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spIn not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ~ If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will He clothe you, 0 ye of little faith?

Even the lilies are following God's natural plan.

Luke 12:29-31 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind._ ~. For a/l these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. !! But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Have patience and don't worry. God knows all things and He's got you pretty well where He wants you. If He's buffeting you a little bit, learn from the experience of living, so that patience and maturity ,will come into your hearts, minds, and souls and then you will be a very happy, successful person.

In His Service,

Arnold Murray
