Certificate lll Graphic Pre-press (ICP30210) PREPRESS 3 Version: 07/08/12 3 GRAB A PIECE OF A4 PAPER The following instructions demonstrate a basic 16 page imposition method for an A7 finished, stitched booklet (similar to what you did for Design 3 > LA 11 Elements book. STEP 1 Have the paper flat on the table. Fold the paper in half, from left to right and turn clockwise with the crease / fold spine at the top. SIZE: A4 STEP 2 The crease is now at the top. This is now a 4 page imposition. NEW SIZE = A5 STEP 3 Repeat step 1 to create the 2nd fold on the sheet. This is an 8 page imposition. NEW SIZE = A6 STEP 4 Repeat step 1 to create the 3rd fold on sheet. This is a 16 page imposition. NEW SIZE = A7 STEP 5 This could now be used as one signature and combined with other signatures to be included in a larger publication or could be stitched and trimmed to produce an A7, stitched 16 page booklet. This is achieved by cutting (a guillotine is best) along the 2nd fold on spine and cutting along the 1st fold on the right. The 3rd fold is stapled to maintain a bound spine.

The following instructions demonstrate a basic 16 page imposition method for an A7 finished, stitched booklet (similar

to what you did for Design 3 > LA 11 Elements book.

STEP 1

Have the paper flat on the table. Fold the paper in half,

from left to right and turn clockwise with the crease /

fold spine at the top. SIZE: A4

STEP 2

The crease is now at the top. This is now a 4 page

imposition. NEW SIZE = A5

STEP 3

Repeat step 1 to create the 2nd fold on the sheet.

This is an 8 page imposition. NEW SIZE = A6

STEP 4

Repeat step 1 to create the 3rd fold on sheet. This is a 16

page imposition. NEW SIZE = A7

STEP 5

This could now be used as one signature and combined with other signatures to be included in a larger publication or

could be stitched and trimmed to produce an A7, stitched 16 page booklet. This is achieved by cutting (a guillotine is

best) along the 2nd fold on spine and cutting along the 1st fold on the right. The 3rd fold is stapled to maintain a
