Mastik, Covenmaster of ThedCruel and merciless, Mastik exemplifies the purposeand nature of the Broo; to spread chaos and enactThed's revenge.

He uses his exceptional guile to manipulate the moreimpressionable members of his race. His seniorposition is only maintained by his constant plotting. Hisfavoured scheme involves organising raids against thehumans to steal their women and herds for thepropagation of more broo. When successful theseraids enhance his position, and when they fail theyusually also remove those broo who would haveopposed him.

In death Priests of Thed return as demons of chaosmore powerful than they were in life, this knowledgerenders them fearless in combat.

Without a doubt the most iconicGloranthan creature. In a game worldthat shunned concepts of good and evilin favour of personal goals the Broo werethe closest to thing to a morality free badguy.

Cruel and lacking any redeemable features thesechaos tainted 'baddies' could be slaughtered withimpunity. However they were notoriously difficult to killand usually left their enemies plague ridden regardlessof the outcome of the fight.

Thed is the mother of all the Broo. Once a greatgoddess her power was shattered during the LesserDarkness. Consort to the Ragnaglar she bore Wakboththe Devil whose birth greatly deformed the goddess.She was subsequently abused by her son to bring forththe horde or demons with which he fought the wars ofchaos. The wars ended with both Ragnaglar andWakboth slain and the mighty goddess stripped of allflesh by Kyger Litor, destined to haunt the dark placesof the work. Worshippers of Thed possess a particularenmity of the Storm Gods and Trolls for theirrespective roles in the chaos wars, only Mallia,goddess of disease, is spared this hateful goddess'wrath. Thed is associated with the runes of Chaos andSpirit.

From the day he climbed from the belly of a lion, Leonwas blessed by Thed, mother of all the broo. Throughhis bravery and strength he quickly established himselfas chief among the broo. His loyalty to Thed wasrewarded when he claimed the iron mace as his ownand was unaffected by the rune metal's effects.

As a leader of the broo he inspires bravery andcourage in his fellow creatures. He is merciless andunforgiving, respected traits among the broo.

Urox, shaman of MalliaMost sentient creature recognise Mallia and pray to herto keep away. The broo have embraced the mistress ofdisease to spread her foul corruption, in turn she hasgranted them immunity to her touch.

Most broo pay homage to Mallia and as her shamansthey can become quite powerful and feared. They seeit as their duty to poison wells, taint livestock and spoilfoods. Where ever there is an outbreak there is Malliaand there will be broo. Needless to say that they aredespised equally by all living creatures.

Urox is a typical shaman. He carries several forms ofcontagion including a few disease spirits bound to theskulls he carries as his standard.

Mallia, the lingerng death, goddess of disease. Shewas the lover of Ragnaglar who sired the broo with herfriend Thed. When her lover was killed Mallia sworevengeance against all who fought them. Her weaponsare the slow death of plague and contagion. Mallia isassociated with the runes of Death and Darkness, thebroo add Chaos to her repertoire. .

Broo are capable of breeding with almost anything.Once implanted with the 'seed' the host is quicklyconsumed by the rapidly developing larvae, finallykilling the host when it erupts. The offspring adoptselements of both the host and impregnating broo.

A little more experienced these have managed to holdonto an assortment of arms and armour.

Danak, Great Troll andDeath Lord of Zorak ZoranA brutal near sociopath who exemplifies the ZorakZoran cult. Kill or be killed is his motto, mercy is aweakness found in humans.

Martaroz's commander (she won't sully herself byacknowledging the lesser trollkin) and generalmanager. He runs the day-to-day activities of thegroup. Martaroz comes up with the plan, Danakensures its carried out. A cruel and blood thirsty trollwho feels that it is the duty of all Uz to die in battleagainst your enemies, taking as many with youbeforehand of course. He respects the Storm Bull cultas worthy warriors, but has little time for others saveDaka Fal or Waha who at least respect their ancestors.

Martaroz the Mistress TrollThe undisputed leaders of Troll society Mistress RaceTrolls are true trolls. Today they prefer dark places,mountain caves or deep ruins. They are swornenemies of the Mostali, the Aldryami and Chaos.

Moran's primary duty within the gang is to ensure thatKyger Litor honours Martaroz with strong sons. Butwithout a male mistress race troll that is highly unlikely.Great trolls are sterile and as Bish & Bash are twinsthey are regarded as little more than large trollkin, soMartaroz needs a mate. The product of an early attempt to break the greatcurse produced Cave Trolls. Viewed with disdain byother trolls they are tolerated as nothing short of guarddogs – big, vicious guard dogs.

There were many attempts to break the great curseand Cave Trolls were the result of one such venture.While they achieved stature and strength they failedwith intellect. Not much smarter than a dog or crow,Cave Trolls are not seen as true trolls by the Uz butkept on as useful pets. Their great strength andaccelerated healing make them ideal subterraneanguardians. Their tough leathery skin protects againstmost attacks.

The great curse that afflicts all Troll kind has producedthese misbegotten parodies of the mighty Uz.Diminutive, sickly and short-lived they are by far themost numerous of all trolls. The weakest are usuallyseen as food by their betters, those with an ounce ofskill are enslaved until their usefulness passes.Although some small groups of trollkin manage to eekout an existence away from Troll dominance, most aresubjugated and when one finds trollkin, trolls are notfar away.

To say that Trollkin are at the bottom of the ladder inTroll society would be generous, they are not evenallowed on the ladder.
