Let’s bring SAM to life!
Get involved!
SAM wants everyone to know who he is, so it is
up to pupils to design what they think he should
look like. He will be the face of Attendance,
and he needs to appeal to all primary school
age children, from Reception to Year 6. His job
will be to be to represent the borough as the
Mascot for Newham’s School Attendance, and
represent the Council at celebrations of good
attendance and punctuality.
The competition is to design a costume that
can be made up to create the life-size
mascot. You have a month to come up with an
imaginative design and give to this in to school
The Attendance Management Service (AMS)
will choose the best design and arrange for it to
be made up. SAM will be out and about in the
borough before you know it. Schools, Mums
and Dads, please encourage your children to
join in.
