Make your own Alien space ship or UFO. You could use paper plates, a plastic cup and string. How will you decorate it?

Phonics Choose from some of the graphemes below to make up some alien names. E.g.

Maths Use objects to make 2 different numbers (up to 10). E.g. A group of 5 pasta shells and a group of 3 lego pieces. Which group has more? Which group has less? Encourage children to say ‘There are more pasta shells than lego pieces’ ‘5 is greater than 3’. OR ‘There are less lego pieces than pasta shells’ ‘3 is less than 5’ Repeat with different amounts and compare. Now make 2 groups that are the same amount e.g. 2 groups of 4. Encourage children to say ‘4 is the same as 4’. ‘4 equals 4’ Repeat with different numbers making sure you use the terminology greater/more than, less/smaller than and equal to.

Create some of your own alien words and practise writing them in your neatest handwriting. Writing

You are an astronaut taking a trip to Space. Could you make your own Space Passport? Look at the example at the end of the document and have a go at your own.

Phonics Can you read these tricky words to your adult?

Maths

Pick 2 digit cards with numbers up to 10. Draw the symbols < and > on two small pieces of paper.

Can you say which number card is the biggest/greatest? Could you add in the correct symbol to compare the numbers? Remember Blockzilla likes the biggest number e.g. 5 > 3. Can you say the verbal sentence to go with the comparison? E.g. 5 is greater than 3.

Repeat a few times with 2 different numbers.

PE Set a timer for 30 seconds or a minute. See how many star jumps you can do in that time. Can you try again with hops? Make sure you count! How many did you do more of? How many did you do less of? Try again- did you do more or fewer jumps? If you did more jumps, does that mean you are getting faster or slower?

On 6 different pieces of paper write the sounds: ai/ ee/ ch/ sh/ ow/ oa

Stick or place them around the room. Read the words below or ask an adult to read them aloud. Stand by the

sound that you can hear in the word. For example: pain – you would stand at the piece of paper with the /ai /

sound.

pain/ chip/ shell/ clown/ peep/ boat/ cow/ coat/ rain/ feet/ train/ how/ ship/ now/ chin/ shell

Maths Have a go at comparing these numbers by using the correct symbol. The first has been done for you. Copy the numbers onto your paper.

Remember whichever number is on the side where Blockzilla’s mouth is open is the greatest.
