March Youth Fundraisers In March, we will have two fundraisers to help defray the costs of our summer activities. The first will be a Middle School car wash on Sunday, March 1 from noon until 2 p.m. in front of the Sardis House. Hot dogs will also be available for lunch! The second will be Sunday, March 22 and will be a lunch and variety show to help raise money for the summer mission trips and the Youth Choir. Lucky draw tickets for a chance to win a 42” flat screen will be sold for only $5 each. Please support the Youth Ministry in their effort to raise money for the upcoming mission trips and newly reformed Youth Choir!

Youth Sunday and Souper Bowl of Caring Offering On Sunday, February 1, the Youth Ministry led both the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services. Both worship services, themed “Lost and Found,” followed the normal for that time slot, with the early service being contemporary and the later service traditional. The Youth Praise Band led the music during the contemporary service while Meredith Banks, Tyler Koch, and Cary Hall Titus delivered the message. The Youth Choir led the music at the 11:00 worship service, including the new Youth Bell Choir and a youth instrumental. Rebecca Alba, Claire Bartel, and Riley Methner delivered the message at 11:00. All of the youth who participated did a fantastic job leading the congregation in worship! Thank you to everyone who helped with the services! DVD and CD copies of both worship services are available from the church office by speaking to Danelle Kime.

The youth also collected the Souper Bowl of Caring Offering, which totaled almost $4000, which is an increase from last year’s offering. All of the money collected went to the Urban Ministry’s Soup Kitchen to help feed those in need.

Middle School Beach Retreat

The Middle School Youth will travel to Kure Beach on March 27-29 for a weekend of fellowship and faith building. They will participate in Bible studies, devotions, worship, and plenty of games and activities to build Christian fellowship. To register for the event, grab a registration form and return it to Adrian in the church office by Sunday, March 15. The cost is $125 plus one road meal per person. Both High School and Middle School have mid-week programs that youth are encouraged to participate in. The High School have Take a Break Tuesday at Qdoba in the Arboritium from 6:30-7:30 p.m. They are studying the book of Romans and enjoying dinner together. Please bring money for dinner. The Middle School have Sabbath on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00. A pizza dinner is offered (please bring $3 to help offset the costs) before a devotion. After the devotion, youth play games and fellowship together.

Mid-Week Programs

Sunday Night Fellowship During February, the youth enjoyed several wonderful evenings together. The middle school youth played four square after having a devotion about keeping your faith for life. They also went out to dinner one night on a spontaneous food road trip and played Minute to Win It games. The high school youth had a wonderful military tribute program, gender discussions about how the opposite gender is “wired,” and assisted with the Sardis and Soup program, where they prepared and delivered soup to those in need in our congregation. There is always room for more people to participate in our programs, so check out the calendar on the back page to see how you can be involved!
