Every year MVJ College of Engineering organizes the sports events in memory of Founder Chairman, Dr. M V Jayaraman. “15th Dr. M V Jayaraman Memorial Inter-Collegiate Leather Ball Cricket Tournament 2018” was organized during 07th May 2018 to 09th May 2018.

division, Bengaluru city and Dr. N. Gunasekaran- Principal, MVJCE in the presence of Mr. Hari Hegde, PRO, MVJCE has inaugurated the tournament at the college campus on 07th May 2018.

The following teams had participated in the event 1. MVJ College of Engineering 2. CMRIT 3. New Horizon College of Engineering 4. Ramaiah University 5. Alliance University 6. AMC College of Engineering 7. Sir. M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology 8. Oxford College of Engineering 9. Bangalore Technological Institute 10. MVJCE Juniors The matches were held at Athena Sports, Varthur-Balagere road,

Bengaluru in the presence of Mr. Naveen Bala, the Sports Coordinator for MVJCE and Mr. Jagadeesha P Naik- PED, MVJCE. The knock-out matches were conducted by the umpires, Mr. Manish Kumar, Mr. Kiran Kumar, Mr. N M Venugopala and Mr. Mahesh Babu N M.

The semifinals and final matches were conducted on 09th May 2018 and the teams that reached the semifinal were from New Horizon College of Engineering, Alliance University and AMC College of Engineering.

The Final match was between MVJ College of Engineering and New Horizon College of Engineering on 09.05.2018. The toss was won by New Horizon College of Engineering and they elected to bat first scoring 97 runs by losing all wickets. They set a target of 98 runs and MVJ College of Engineering has chased successfully by losing 04 wickets and with 10 balls to bowl.

The valedictory function was held at Athena Sports, Varthur-Balagere

road. Dr. N Gunasekaran - Principal MVJCE distributed the runners-up trophy and cash prize of Rs. 5,000. He also awarded certificates to students from New Horizon College of Engineering and the winner trophy and cash prize of Rs. 10,000 to participants from MVJ College of Engineering.
