What is IP Telephony? Translates voice conversations into data packets and transports

over data network (i.e. NUSNET) using Internet Protocol (IP) – i.e. VoIP. IP Telephony is VOIP in the Enterprise (NUS).

New prefix “6516” allocated All extensions preserved Seamless migration to new prefix

“6516” and “6874” concurrently available for 10 months (Sept 2005 to June 2006)

Called Number Announcement for “6874” in May & June 2006

Four-digit dialing across extensions with PhoneNet and IP Phones

Fax, direct lines & non “6874” phones not upgraded Availability of analogue lines for backup
